A series of mysterious disappearances in a dystopian city spark an investigation open to the public with money as a prize, attracting people from all walks of life to try their hand at cracking the case. But as some investigators get close to finding the truth, they find themselves falling into the very cause of the disappearances. You are signing up to be one of those unfortunate investigators. - A BIT OF WORLD LORE - This world has different human Xenotypes, all with their own unique quirks and qualities. That means you can be like a cool thing but you gotta look recognizably human (for the most part). Beyond the borders of the city are entities called Fantasms, monsters thought to be born from humans 'ascending' or 'corrupting'. Though most are kept out of the city, some slip in. Figmen are lesser Fantasms. They're more comparable to wild animals and aren't inherently violent. Contract Mercenaries are people found all around the city, taking on just about any request they're hired for. The government doesn't care about deaths they cause or disasters that happen, because everyone has accepted it as a way of life. Mercenary rankings correspond to the colors of the rainbow, with Red Mercs being considered top of the line, and Pink Mercs being seen as highly inexperienced. The undercity is a place located in the deepest corners and under the city. It is rife with crime and generally dubious behaviors. - SOME RULES - 1. No characters that completely don't fit what's going on (think random object show characters and dinosaurs). 2. Please fill the sign-up with enough information so I can actually understand who they are. 3. Make it legible - SOME NOTES - 1. You CAN submit more than 1 character, but 2 is the maximum. 2. Non-human characters are completely fine (they're gonna be human "xenotypes"). 3. Try to give your characters flaws. 4. Deadline when I feel like it. 5. There is an example entry in the project 6. If needed, I'll alter the submission to make them fit more. It won't be changed too much so don't worry. 7. Personalities and dispositions will be changed very much if I have to. 8. Please add flaws to your characters. They're not very interesting without them. 9. Your OCs will probably be grouped into pairs in the actual thing. If you can, you can probably try to get into agreed pairs so you can have like an agreed theme or something. Or maybe you can submit twice idk either works. 10.
