Scraps had aimed for Looey. She had aimed for Looey. LOOEY. She trembled, unable to move any more than that. Slowly, she retracted her tail. She had aimed for Looey. She had not struck Looey. She had struck someone else. Someone that had jumped in front of Looey. She had struck her own brother. Everything was still. Everything was silent. “NO!” She cried out, racing to Goob. He was… he was smiling? Just the faintest smile, but it was as if he was proud of what he had just done, despite the gaping hole in his stomach. Scraps was only feet away from him. She could fix him! She could make things right again! “Love ya… sis.” Goob choked out. Then he burst into a puddle of ichor. Only then did Scraps reach him. … Wh-what? No. No. How could this have happened… “NO! No, no, no, no! Please- no, don’t do this to me!” She sobbed. She collapsed to the ground, covered in ichor. Tears filled her eyes, and her vision was blurry. She sat in the ichor puddle, sobbing. No one approached her. They were still registering what had just happened. Once they did, all of them were too scared to even move- except for Looey, who immediately got up and backed away, in utter shock. This wasn’t meant to happen. “Paradise,” could never happen under these circumstances. “Paradise,” would have been a beautiful place with everyone Scraps had liked in it. It would have been wonderful. It can never happen now. And oh, what had gone wrong? Why did Goob do that? Looey didn’t mean that much to the either of them! Why die for him?! …Was it not about Looey? Was it to make Scraps see how awful she could be? If so, Goob’s plan worked perfectly. Scraps’ head was reeling. She sat there for minutes? Hours? She couldn’t tell. Slowly, each craft left. Looey, Cosmo, and Finn took Yatta to the Easter floor for healing. Everyone was gone, except for Coal and Vee. Vee was, well, still there for a very obvious reason. Coal was whining, and butting her head against Scraps. “Hey.” Vee said. Scraps slowly turned around, still crying. “You can’t just stay there forever, you know. You’ll have to get up at some point.” “I just- he’s- he’s dead, Vee. I killed him. And now, there’s no going back.” Scraps started sobbing again. “I know.” Vee sighed, staring at the puddle of ichor. “But, you’ve gotta move on. It’s what Goob would have wanted you to do… right?” “Y-yeah…” Scraps sniffled. “If you fix me now, I can help you clean up. And… I won’t punch you.” “I deserve to get punched…” Scraps mumbled. “Hey. No, you don’t. You are… not an awful person. This was an accident, you never ment to hurt anyone. You just got mad.” “I KILLED my own brother, Vee. I-I can’t live with that. I deserve to die too.” Scraps curled up into a ball. Coal nudged her gently. “SCRAPS. DON'T SAY THAT. You do not deserve to die… Maybe just start doing some good by fixing me. Would that make you feel better, knowing that you helped someone?” Vee's voice had become softer than any time Scraps had ever heard it. Scraps took a few seconds, and then stood up. "Yeah... I'll, uh, just do that." Scraps took both Vee's head and her body. She began to walk back to the hallway where she lived. She looked back, let out one last little sob, and opened the door to the hallway. Fixing Vee was relatively easy. After Scraps was done fixing her, she let her recover. Vee was still getting adjusted to her new body, after all. Scraps headed into Goob's room. It was colder now. She looked at the pictures. The plushies. Everything. She couldn't bear it. She slammed the door shut. Then, she went to the drawing room. Pictures were all over the walls, the floor, everywhere. They were all pictures of, "Paradise." An idea, merely a concept, that had almost become reality, but had failed at the last second. Vee stumbled into the room, still adjusting to her body. "Are you feeling any better?" She asked, with genuine concern in her voice. "...Not really." Scraps responded. Then, she sighed. "But I have to move on, don't I? I can't live like this." "Yeah." Vee murmured bleakly. "I'll clean up all of the ichor, okay? Come out when you feel at least a bit better." She had grabbed some towels, and headed out of the hallway. Vee was right. Scraps knew she was. This was all an accident. She had to move on. So, she left the drawing room, and headed to her own room. She looked at the ceiling. She thought long and hard about everything. She forgave Dandy. She forgave Astro. She forgave Vee. All that was left to do was for her to forgive herself. ...
