Watame music is a vibe -I pull a Sanderson move and split up perspectives based off sections of the book, I want so many viewpoints -merah viewpoint is detached and slowly becomes more uncertain like “why did I do that.. but it’s for the right cause! I can’t be wrong!” and she slowly crosses more moral lines as she panics and makes herself a mess.. Vess scene eventually comes and she makes a particular mistake to set that to happen -merodi viewpoint is originally supposed to be sorta healthy / showing virtues more than mental health and then we introduce reine - she is initially wary and pushes back so we can have some draft 1 behaviors and that is what presses draft 2 / 3 behaviors or isolation stage back - reine viewpoint is calm and thoughtful and can first come off as concerning, but something is off and you can just barely taste the bitter aftertaste even in the beginning - it slowly blends out as it is pressed to the surface - compare and contrast literally every dynamic in every character’s life - a lot of unhealthy rationalization from merodi during stage 3 and ayui during stage.. 1.5 I think it was - og draft had a lot of sharp object reoccurrences for symbolism, 2nd draft was messy but featured a lot moth/flame, this draft should have more plant research so I can use those - I still want to play with hanahaki and red string of fate tropes I feel like they could work really well - more calm chapters - as story progresses, we get more chapters from Fijua / Leona or general past chapters, and less from Merodi POV, Reine should stay about the same - scarce chapters need to be amazing so you want more of them and it feels like a lot when you get them, and these should be longer, to cast the illusion of getting more of this character when you’re really getting less because less is happening that starts to change - cackling Mary / Hazel dynamic was sick I want something like that for Reine / Merodi and Ayui / Merah but with distinctions and little things specific to them - reine has controlling behaviors like positioning merodi face and hair and takes a lot of speaking roles from her - this is brought up at some point and Merodi fights on it a little bit before giving up and admitting it is easier for her despite its feeling wrong - research lavender as in depth as possible I am going to take this much too far - things lose value for merodi as story progresses I have literally called her a doll in the past she will be treated like one and will outwardly act like one to avoid problems - fijua / leona relationship should be a shining example of what reine / merodi are not and fijua should realize first that merodi is losing spirit + take measures to make sure she’s happy because leona asks her to when she mentions it off-handedly - leona is going to convince fijua to adopt a dog it’s going to be a boerboel and it’s going to be named “seraph” as a joke - leona is going to often wear hair in two braids - merah fatal flaw is her inability to stay committed to any one person or thing, her greatest fear is being found out for what she has done in the midst of panic, such as murdering ayui and being responsible for merodi personal hell - ayui fatal flaw is her tendency to listen to others vent and talk and not do the same, bottling up her own emotions and desires… her fear is of letting any one person know too much about her so as to take advantage of her emotions and morals/head and heart - merodi fatal flaw is that she constantly closes herself off and doesn’t let out emotion or express herself, instead falling apart inside without anyone around her. Her greatest fear is losing someone she loves again, so she resolves to stay away from people so she can’t get attached - reine fatal flaw is her obsessive need for control of every situation and person around her (unless she trusts them greatly) and her fear is of being hurt by anyone she loves- so she will keep them to herself so they cannot love anyone else or leave her - fijua fatal flaw is that she just doesn’t care about most of the people around her and will hurt and crush them to do whatever she wants and accomplish anything… her greatest fear is losing leona because she would do anything for her and leona is one of the only people she listens to - as for leona, she is also afraid of losing fijua or being pulled back into a relationship similar to the one she had before, and her fatal flaw is not trusting people and being extremely jumpy and anxious around strangers/in large gatherings
[ cont . ] - they are all similar but they aren’t at the same time - most notable visible feature/gimmick/thing about each is that merah is always smiling, ayui usually has her hair up/in a half up half down style, merodi usually rubs her wrists when she’s not holding anything, reine wears these several rings at all times, fijua has a monocle and messy hair and always wears gloves and only stops smiling when you’ve done something to warrant absolute rage, and the only jewelry/accessory leona ever wears are these fingerless gloves she got from fijua on a shopping spree - uhm cool side things.. merah canonically goes to work as a waitress, ayui is a virtuoso and loved violin, merodi is an artist and sorta dissociates when she draws so it is whatever is deeply bothering her at the core, reine is a psychologist and is wealthy despite her parents racking up a debt, fijua knows uh several in-world languages and can curse at you in all of them(/silly), and leona is unemployed because fijua blackmails her boss for raises and does crap so that leona doesn’t have to deal with the awful work system in-world - closest fictional parallels for the characters I cough what would those be.. - merah theme song would be Love Me Love Me by Pavolia Reine (all you need is me, all I need is you, promise to me /lyr or something like that I forget) - ayui would be In My Feelings by Nerissa Ravencroft but I forget the lyrics :skull: - merodi would be HELP!! by Kobo Kanaeru (help!! Mother, father, I couldn’t be a good daughter until the end, that’s why // help! This cowardice overtakes me, were those earlier days of bravado really so bad? /lyr this song is amazing go find it) - reine’s would be Illusion Night by Pavolia Reine (I don’t think ‘I’ll miss you anymore’ like I did the day you left // there’s so many just like you I could use instead /lyr) - fijua would be LIVING DEAD by IRyS (living dead I’m on a wire // hanging by a thread, but that’s what makes me love it // I wanna ignite the fire /lyr) or BE MY FLAME which is also IRyS - leona would be smth else I forget the name of I sob
