Update: To make a long story short people acting very parasocial to Tansy, Bee, and other popular animators Hey guys, I quickly want to talk about a problem I have noticed in the Scratch MAP community that really annoys me. It's about the "elite circle" of Scratch animators and the literal idolization and INTENSE fangirling/fanboying of certain Scratchers that just gets to a point where it's, to be blunt, weird. It really needs to stop which is why I'm gonna be talking about it today. It all started with @TinyTansy, who was, sadly, banned a few months ago due to false ban accusations. Tansy has beautiful art and animations, so obviously, she's rightfully popular. She's very good at hosting MAPs and has great designs, and is very funny and nice. But people got a little carried away with their, idk how to describe it, fandom-ing. I've seen people posting constantly on Tansy's profile for no reason. Usually it was constant glazing. Guys, I know you're thinking they were being nice, but some of it crossed the line into being straight-up weird. It's not normal to comment multiple times per day on someone's profile glazing their content. Most of these people were doing it to try to get her to respond, get fanart from Tansy or get her to like or favorite one of their projects, etc. They started using "Are you approved by Tansy?" as the metric for if you were a good animator. They also wanted desperately to be in Tansy's friend circle but ended up forming a weird one-way relationship. It gets to a point where it seemed like people treated her as a literal GOD. I mean, guys, she's a popular animator on Scratch. What the hell. It seemed like she was the only thing keeping the scratch MAP community alive, mainly the hype from her posting a new MAP. Guys, we all think Tansy's awesome here, which she is, but she doesn't deserve THAT type of glazing. It would always make me mad that when Tansy noticed an underrated animator and liked one of their projects, everyone followed suit, even though that person would have none of the attention they deserved without Tansy doing it. Tansy did something? I have to, too. That was their philosophy. It made Tansy herself uncomfortable. Once Tansy was banned, suddenly the community went into a stupor, because, as i've said, Tansy was basically the only person keeping the community alive and fueling people to make more MAPS. So naturally, they looked for someone for fill the void, and they chose none other than @SquirrelStar_16. Suddenly, the intense fandoming went straight to Bee and her sister. Again, Bee is an amazing animator, but WHY in the world do we need an idol who's the gold standard for Scratch warrior cats animations and must be treated like a literal god? It's super weird and, from what I've seen, Tansy and Bee don't even like it. Bee has been starting to get these weird glazing comments, too, just like Tansy. Nobody deserves to have intense glazers that cross the line into uncomfortable. And again, whenever Bee notices an underrated MAP or animation, everyone blindly follows along. Something that really annoys me was the situation. Rose was a new Scratcher who just wanted to exist in peace. Since her artstyle was inspired by Tansy, she ONLY got attention from the drama. Rose's art is super cute! Why does she need to have some relation to Tansy to be famous??? She deserves to have natural attention from slowly getting attention from actual things like posting map parts and map calls. And, of course, after everyone realizes she wasn't Tansy pretending to be someone else or tracing Tansy, and since Bee saw the situation and drew her fanart, the GLAZERS came. People who were previously hating on her for "tracing" are now glazing her, just because Bee saw her. Guys, what??? If Rose didn't have a similar style to Tansy or any relation to popular ppl, nobody would've seen her, even though she deserves attention. This needs to stop. Guys, you don't need an animation idol. -Bobcatz (Sorry about the random song lol it was my most recently downloaded lol) Update: this is blowing up ummm
