SPAM THAT FLAG BOII if the lipsync dont line up SPAM IT AGAIN >:O this HAS to be the longest ive spent on an animation lol anyways i saw the design and knew i had to enter, plus i have a huge art block rn so drawing cats helps a bunch since theyre not as complicated i absolutely ADORE the colors, like oml everything just goes together so well :`) okay hear me out on the lore tho, i promise its not as cringe if you keep reading- name: caelus, it means sky, hes an exile from his kingdom age: 19 worldbuilding: okay there're 3 "worlds," one is called- Empyrean(the meaning of the word is really cool, go search it up)- realm of the Gods, they don't intervene much, nor are they benevolent or cruel, they're pretty neutral and watch over- Aetheria- the winged species kingdom, just a bunch of animals with wings (some lack them though, and are looked down on) Abyss- then there's this, which is basically like an underworld, demons and the like crawl there, and it's said to be dangerous Backstory- OKAY so Caelus was a very accomplished "Aerian" (they're the protectors of Aetheria, all trained) and considered a prodigy for his age(he's the youngest ever to pass the qualification test). He has a sister, Lyra, who's "wingless" and looked down on all her life, so he's very protective of her. Then something happens and his sister dies, and everyone, including Caelus, blames himself(details unclear). He is exiled to the barren Outskirts. Caelus meets the black wolf-cat(genetic makeup, unknown) Ikari. Ikari(omg search her name up too its so tuff) Age: unknown Powers(?): unkown Ikari found Caelus at his lowest and guided him. She told him that his sister wasn't killed, but experimented on by the Gods(they justified it by weeding out the 'weak,' basically they tried to alter and corrupt the dna of wingless to try to make them more powerful, to advance the winged race, but so far no one's been able to survive the mutations), who were supposedly their protectors. She turned his grief into hatred and anger. Later, Caelus finds out Ikari was in fact, a God too. But she had been too bold, even Gods had rules. She discovered the practices done on "wingless" and questioned the practices, and in return, she was banished. Gods couldn't be killed, not fully, so they stripped her of her divinity and casted her into the Abyss. The scar on her eye is her reminder of her fate, cursed to dwell forever admist the shadows and never see the light of day again. Using his rage against him, Ikari tricks Caelus into making a deal. His mortality for her power. She would finally be freed from her eternal prison and live a normal life before succumbing to mortal death, and he would have all of eternity to punish the Gods for what they did. This is like the gist of it, I had to sum it up so it's not THAT long lol but yeah this song is crazy fitting for them Lyrics: "You're alone, you're on your own, so what?" Ikari mocks Caelus for his naiveness - she's been alone for thousands of years. "Have you gone blind? Have you forgotten what you have and what is yours?" She's asking if he's blinded by his grief and rage, set on a path to revenge he can never go back from(also an allusion to her scar, reminding him of what kind of punishments the Gods could subject him to). The kinder part of her is also reminding Caelus to think through the deal, because he still has loved ones, still has family. If he really agrees, there would be no turning back and he would be alone for the rest of eternity. "Glass half empty, glass half full." They both have what each other desires - peace and power. Neither can see the benefit in themselves but long for the other. "Either way, you won't be going thirsty." Ikari explaining the consequences. He would likely end up like her, uncaring and heartless. "Count your blessings, not your flaws." Again, she's telling him to see what he still has. "You lost your mind in the sound." Caelus has lost himself in his question for blood.
