( + ) observant, emotionally present, empathetic ( = ) perfectionistic, people-pleasing, understanding ( - ) avoidant, pessimistic, suppressing of herself ⚘ )) mbti : isfj-t ⚘ )) tarot : judgement evanesce loves the quiet. she's a pillar of constance in the sea of uncertainty. despite what may or may not happen in the future, she hold her head high and prays that nobody will sees through her masterfully crafted mask. she's always there for her siblings and tries to stay in tune with her surroundings, not to cause drama, but mainly to make sure that her movements don't cause ripples in the pond. ⠀⠀⠀she tries to understand everyone, take all of their ideas into account before she makes her move, but she then also disregards her own wishes and wants. she craves perfection from those around her, but mainly... herself. she wants to be perfect to her father, siblings, friends, even enemies. she crafts walls and walls of protection and makes sure that nobody can break it. but even the greatest walls crumble with time. ⠀⠀⠀when her walls begin to crumble, she turns away from everyone and becomes cold, for fear of hurting them. she'll mainly respond quietly and with exaggerated tail movements. despite the brave face she puts on, she's a huge pessimist, looking at the glass as half empty. ++
++ she's not a bad cat, but she was never really taught how to see the world from the view of an optimist. she looks out on the world from a foggy window; she always feel three steps behind everyone else. so, to cope with this looming feeling, she hides herself and observes everyone else around her, picking up on different cues from everyone and forming a mock-persona depending on who she's talking to. this can range from bubbly and sweet to cruel and cold depending on who she's interacting with. ━━ • ⋅ ✶ ⋅ • ━━━━━━━ • • • ☽ [ Ⅵ ] FAMILY DYNAMICS .. ⚘ )) ASTROPHEL : though evanesce loves -- or at least thinks she loves -- astrophel, she can't help but feel on edge around fem. she feels a prickle of anticipation or a jolt whenever astrophel does something, as if she's ready for him to snap. she knows they would never, but she can't help it, mainly because she knows that he is always watching. always listening. always around. ━━ • ⋅ ✶ ⋅ • ━━━━━━━ • • • ☽ [ Ⅶ ] TRIVIA, PLOT IDEAS & CODEWORD .. ⚘ )) the vines on her fur represent her feeling trapped by astrophel's subtle favoritism, and because he is so slightly and inconspicuously controlling, she takes it upon herself to try and escape little by little. ⚘ )) she often has a sorrowful expression, training herself to remain stoic and "perfect" to not trigger any form of doubt. ⚘ )) her guilt ( reference to the parenting forum ) encompasses her, circling her in the way that a cat circles a caged bird, or a comet shoots across the sky, ready to lash out and hurt. ⚘ )) avoids expression with her eyes. she has learned that that will make astrophel all the more sorrowful or reminiscing, so instead she copes by using her tail and ears a lot when speaking or when feeling a large emotion. ⚘ )) " i am a dove in a golden cage. yes it is beautiful, but it is still a cage. " ⚘ )) i deeply desperately want her to go through an arc in which she finally breaks free of astrophel's silk chains and leaves riverclan for good, never turning back. personally, if the vines on her fur aren't part of the design, i'd want to repurpose them into an olive-like wreath, which ties together with my vision where evanesce is the dove. so if we follow this logic with the dove and the olive branch, it's commonly referred to as a symbol of freedom, so when she breaks free of the expectations set by astrophel, she metaphorically breaks free, the chain-like vines becoming an olive-wreath to symbolize her newfound liberty. ⚘ )) though she hates being the reminder of astrophel's guilt and regret, she doesn't want to make him avoidant of her, which, I hope she will later overcome when i develop this storyline ⚘ )) i wouldn't say that evanesce is an attention hog, but i would say that she wants to have astrophel's attention so that her siblings -- particularly dayspring -- won't have to handle astrophel's constant nagging. she's noticed how they look at dayspring with a bit of.. contempt? almost? and she just wants to take some of the burden so that day won't have to. ⚘ )) if she was a human, i think she'd dress very light academia or cottagecore, most likely incorporating lots of dove motifs into her day to day basis. as a human, she'd definitely go to college and major in psychology or world history. she gives vibes, y'know? ⚘ )) evanesce is inspired by icarus, bloodstream ( alyssa grace ), the cure ( olivia rodrigo ), miyo from my happy marriage -- sorta? not really.. faintly inspired?, fluttershy from mlp ━━ • ⋅ ✶ ⋅ • ━━━━━━━ • • • ☽ [ Ⅷ ] ROLEPLAY EXAMPLES .. ⚘ )) linked in the comment section. ━━ • ⋅ ✶ ⋅ • ━━━━━━━ • • • ☽ [ Ⅸ ] CLOSING .. ⚘ )) well well well, it seems you've reached the end of this application. thank you for reading through my mountain of poorly formatted words and have a lovely day. i had so much fun brainstorming who evanesce could be and i'd love it if you took a complimentary cookie on the way out.
