"He said that he wants to save us from starving..." Morpho replied. Rasa sighed, "That doesn't make sense... Veneen hoards food all to himself!" Morpho paused for a second, xir mind thinking. "What could Veneen possibly want then..?" "I don't know," Rasa said, "but he is up to no good for sure." Switching perspective! Meanwhile, back in the mortal forest, Jelu, Tulun, and Redu held their breath. The heavy footsteps outside the tree roots were getting closer and closer, crunching against the leaves and sticks. Jelu heart beating against her chest. She looked over at Quince, who was hiding behind Tulun. The footsteps suddenly stopped right outside their only escape. A large shadow blocked the tiny bit of light coming through the roots, and someone began to pull the roots out of the ground with surprising strength... Not quite pulling the tree all the way out, a small dragon peeked into the hollow space. He appeared to be short compared to the other dragons and wore a pair of large glass lenses over his eyes, which magnified his small eyes. It was Glim. A low rank dragon who is known to scrawny but remarkably strong because of his genetics "Wait... Jelu? Tulun? What are you guys doing down there?!" he asked in a squeaky voice. "Did you know that according to rule number four of the palace handbook, hiding during a mission is against the law? Also, the wet air down here is making my glasses foggy..." Jelu, Tulun, and Redu all let out a big sigh and rolled their eyes. Redu quickly reached out, grabbed Glim by his armor, and pulled his small body right into the roots with them. "Shh! Be quiet, Glim! You are too loud" Jelu whispered, pointing at the sleeping guards outside. Glim adjusted his big glasses, his eyes widening as he finally spotted the bat hiding behind Tulun. "BA-" Redu slapped her talon right over Glim's mouth, cutting off his loud shout with a muffled squeak. "I told you to shut up!" she whispered.
