Chapter 1 when I was in eighth grade something tragic happened, it happened on an early Monday in march I was sitting in class when the phone rang the teacher answered and went pale I heard her say "yes, she will be right up" then she hung up she turned to me and said "you are being sent home early today miss peters" I packed my things and headed to the office my mom and dad were waiting there looking panicked. My mom said, "Emily we are getting in the car quickly please" Once we got in the car my dad turned to me and said "Emily your sister is missing" The color drained from my face and when we got home police were there, the next couple of days were hazy but one dreaded day my mom turned on the news and in perfect detail, my sister was described "a brown hair green-eyed teenager was found just outside of a parking lot, she has several wounds on her back and neck" the news reporter said my mom burst into tears "police have not found any suspects" Chapter 2 today was the anniversary of the day my sister died. lots of things have changed we moved into a smaller house I have started seeing a therapist and I have a new school. I was walking home one day after school when I heard a familiar voice call from behind me "Emmy!" it was my new friend Susie "Emmy!" she called again she sounded out of breath so I stopped walking and let her catch up "Emmy" she huffed "you don't keep walking when someone is calling your name" she said panting "what do you want?" I asked "are you coming to Jessica's birthday today," she said "no I have a session with my therapist today" Susie took one of her blond curls and twirled it sadly "well see you tomorrow she said" and walked away
