I've noticed there seems to be a lot of people who have a hard time grasping the concept that overhead valve (OHV) does not mean "pushrod" and that overhead cam (OHC) and OHV are not mutually exclusive terms. The diagrams online I was using to try and explain this aren't necessarily the best, so I decided to make my own. You can change the speed of the engines with the slider at the top. This is by no means comprehensive, these are all 2-valve inline-cylinder versions of these setups and 4-valve, V, and boxer versions have their own different designs. For anyone curious, Speed: 0 is 455 rpm and Speed: -0.5 is 29 rpm Yes technically you could make an overhead cam engine that runs pushrods into the block to actuate the underhead valves, but there is literally no reason to do that, hence why no one has.
