Happy birthday, Rosemary Harris! Born on the 19th of September, 1927 Turned 99 years old this year (will have turned 99 in 2026 should this project ever get revisited in the future) Who is Rosemary Harris? Rosemary Ann Harris is an English actress who has been acting since she first went on the stage in 1948, then made her first Broadway debuts on television in 1952, starring in both A Cradle of Willow as Tansy Clampett and Studio One in Hollywood as herself. She is best known for playing Peter Parker’s aunt Maybelle “May” Parker (née Reilly) in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man film trilogy (2002–2007), a role that is very highly praised among fans of the wall-crawler clad in red and blue that we have all known and loved since his first appearance in the 15th issue of the Amazing Fantasy comic book series in 1962. Harris turns 99 years old this year, and as one of many people who have grown up watching the Raimi films (as well as Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man duology and the ongoing MCU series that currently has Tom Holland behind the mask of everybody’s spectacular friendly neighbourhood webslinger), I thought it would be nice of me to release this project to acknowledge Miss Harris reaching 99 years of age. In fact, when I actually found out that she had turned 99 years old on the 19th of September this year when I came back from a three-day camping trip in Llandow, Wales to witness a go-karting race around the Llandow Circuit that my dad had partaken in, I actually started crying because I couldn’t believe that someone who was a part of my childhood had ACTUALLY TURNED 99 YEARS OLD. And I guess it also helped with releasing some stress that had built up inside me before I made my discovery. Happy Belated 99th Birthday, Rosemary Harris!
