I love my friends. They’re cool, funny, and really loyal. They’re too smug to admit it, but I know they feel the same way. Lately though, Elio hasn’t been hanging around with us. I’m planning on asking her about it, but she always disappears right after the bell rings. I’ll try and catch her at the end of English, since that’s our la- “Packster? You good, girl?” Ray asks me. “You’ve been staring at Benson for five minutes, you have a crush on the idiot?” Cass gasped. “Really, Fanny?” “No! No. It’s not that.” I shook my head. Ha. As if. Benson hates my guts. “I was thinking.” “About?” A familiar smooth voice asked. I whipped my head around. “Elliot!” Ray smiled. “Where have you been?” Cass exclaimed. Elio grinned and stepped to the left, revealing a tall fennec fox, about the same height as Raine. “Guys, this is Kayla. Kayla Brooks.” Elio smiled. “Kayla Brooks?” Ray murmured. “Wait…” Cass’s eyes widened slightly. The realization hit me as well. Why was Elio hanging out with Kayla if…? “You’re that snobby rich girl!” We exclaimed so loudly we got shushed by the lunch monitor.
