Welcome, all Dusk and DawnClan managers and rpers :j if you aren't part of the rp, and would like to sign up, here are the sign-ups: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/51976129 Otherwise, let's begin! ‧ ✩ — GENERAL: Suffixes are an ending given to your character after they become a full medicine cat or warrior– it's meant to reflect their personality, looks, and/or accomplishments. This guide is primarily written for us managers to provide you with suffix options, but if you're an rper, this can give you a good idea to suggest/determine what suffix choice best suits you! We love to receive suggestions for your character's suffix. This obviously excludes kits, apprentices, and leaders, for they have the respective suffixes of -kit, -paw, and -star. ‧ ✩ — Rules for suffixes ~☆ ⟢ Don't provide/request a suffix that exceeds 4 syllables. For example, a name like Blossombioluminescence is a mouthful to type and say. Even four syllable ones are a stretch, depending on how long the prefix is. (E.g. compare Leafluminescence to Tranquilityluminescence) ⟢ Suffixes should not break rules and abide by scratch guidelines ⟢ Suffixes should not be based off disabilities/trauma! Cannot stress this more. Like Deadfoot, Lostface, this is just extremely ableist ⟢ Choose or provide suffixes fitting for your character. This isn't a true rule, but us managers will provide suffixes suiting for your character. For example, naming a shady character with the suffix -shine is quite ironic ⟢ Choose suffixes that sound good. No one wants to say a warrior/medicine cat name that's a tongue twister! (E.g. Willowwhisker) this isn't exactly a rule, but you prolly want the name to flow on your tongue, personally it’s a major factor ⟢ Suffixes cannot be named after human/twoleg words/objects unless there is some special exception. (E.g. Fireclock) this also applies to words like winter and summer, which cats call leaf-bare and greenleaf ⟢ Providing 3-4 suffix options is standard, unless the rper asks for more. Rpers are allowed to suggest a vibe/specific suffix they want! ‧ ✩ — Looks based suffixes are based off of the looks of your character. For example, if your cat's fur is gray, the cat's name could be Grayfur. These suffixes can be slightly boring though. Ex: -fur -pelt -stripe -tail -claw -ear -whisker -eye -face -fang -leg -nose -tuft - and more! ‧ ✩ — Personality-based suffixes are based off a cat's personality. Ex: Calm/tranquil/gentle/quiet: -frost -pool -breeze -wish -serenity -whisper -tide -willow -echo -quiet -shade Clever/wise: -oath -whisper -sight -gaze -willow -watcher -pool -snow -and more! Sly/cunning: -fox -adder -sneak -whisper -stalk -watcher -shadow -shade -veil -cloak -shrould -haunt -trick -trickery -deceit -deceive Kind/empathetic/caring: -heart -shine -delight -rose -spirit -wish -dawn -light -song -and more! Loyal/brave/courageous/bold/fierce: -torrent -heart -claw -fang -blaze -storm -cry -flame -pounce -rise -shout - and more! Dreamy/imaginative/creative: -whirl -whisp -trance -wisp -dream -daydream -fantasy -haze -shimmer -cloud -drift -wish -and more! Free/spontaneous/optimistic: -air -breeze -wind -wing -flight -bounce -spring -chase -hop -feather -leap -dance -runner -stream -blossom -chime -butterfly -moth -frolic -rapid -bird types -and more! Stubborn/protective: -mountain -ridge -ledge -haven -briar -bramble -and more! Pessimistic: -wither -shade -fall -frost -hollow -dusk -mire -shiver -and more! Anxious/Paranoid: -fidget -whisper -shade -flake -shiver -skitter -and more! Ambitious/prideful/arrogant: -pride -blister -shine -crest -blaze -fire -flight -flame -soar -snarl -peak -plume -crest -and so much more! Evil/jealous/greedy/all traits that are “bad”: -shade -shadow -night -haunt -thorn -strike -fang -talon -storm -ash -blaze -dark -claw -venom -snarl -slaughter -vengeance -and more! Other personality traits not listed on here and unique suffixes are all fine!! ‧ ✩ — Music-based suffixes: Music suffixes I have found to be very popular in the community! Matching the best suiting type of song to the character would be preferred :D -requiem -symphony -melody -harmony -prelude -cadence -lullaby -serenade -ballad -sonnet -elegy -rhapsody -lyric -hymn ‧ ✩ — Role-based suffixes: Medicine cats are often named after nature, and warriors are often named after predators/fearsome nouns. Most of these can be used for either but stereotypically they sort of fit into these sections ^^ Medicine cats: -leaf -sight -berry -stem -flower -(plants) Warriors: -claw -fang -tooth -badger -fight -surge -fox -adder - (fearsome stuff etc.) ‧ ✩ — Clan-based suffixes: DuskClan leans more toward darkness/the moon. DawnClan leans toward the sun. (Cont in credits)
