So writing isn’t exactly one of my greatest skills, but here is my attempt at explaining the lore of a few of the characters who exist in my head. Warning before you continue. Although I will be doing my best to leave out the stuff that isn’t scratch-friendly, their story is rather dark, and does have some darker themes as well. If you would like to know anything more about something in particular that was skimmed over, please ask in my chat room or one of my older projects. So the main premise is a classic dystopian world where the robots/AI/whatever took over. It’s heavily based on I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, and on Ultron from Marvel. In this story they, meaning the robots, have already won: nearly 65 years ago. Most of humanity has been destroyed, with only around 5,000 left world-wide. The robots kinda just see them as pests at this point. Mildly irritating but overall harmless. The humans however see themselves as survivors or as rebels. They think of themselves as far more of a threat to the robots than they are. They have mostly organized themselves into small groups for survival, but there are a few outliers. A few of the robots see the humans as endangered species, and want to study them. But they are far from gentle in how they go about doing this. There are still groups of bots that hunt humans for sport, hoping to get rid of the last few. The science ones just tell the hunters to retrieve any interesting seeming ones for them instead of killing them. So the main character is named Alex. She’s the first picture in the project. (Two versions of her, explanation later, but she currently looks like the first one) Alex lived with a small group of humans and was one of the ones who would go to get food for the group. But at one point when she was heading back to her group after getting food, some of the hunter robots found her. She doesn’t want to lead them back to the others, so instead she runs the opposite direction. She ends up trapped between the hunters and a cliff. (Skipping over quite a bit of stuff here) Then in the end of that part, she ends up quite injured, as well as captured. The hunters bring her to a research center, she is unconscious at that point, and barely staying alive. One of the nurse robots there (currently unnamed, but semi-important) fixed her up by order of the head researcher there. The head researcher robot is named Milo (since I feel like the robots would give themselves human names), and he’s a very intelligent AI. He’s the second one in the project. He’s uh… pretty evil. He doesn’t have an ounce of humanity in him, but rather enjoys pushing them to both their physical and emotional limits, just to see what happens. He can also become pretty obsessive over an interesting “subject”. Since he doesn’t need to eat or sleep, he would just spend all his time observing the human. (Please don’t ship, I beg. This is /not/ a ship.) So Alex was fixed, rather against her will. But she had injured her spine in the previously mentioned accident, and had lost movement in her legs. Her body had been trying to fix the legs, instead of the rest of her which needed it more, so in order to save her life, the nurse robot had amputated them. (If any people who know stuff at all about medical anything want to give me advice, please do.) Milo saw the opportunity, and claiming it was an act of mercy, he had her legs replaced with robotic ones like most of the robots now have. As well as her right eye, which was born blind, replaced. And for added measures, a few internal failing systems were replaced too. In reality he just saw it as an interesting opportunity to study. So when Alex woke up, she wasn’t fully human anymore. She was obviously furious and terrified. Which Milo, the big meanie, found fascinating. And this is when my details start to get looser. I haven’t fully filled it all in yet. But basically Milo keeps Alex trapped for his studies, and he pushes her to her limits over and over again. All while she is dealing with major dysphoria and questioning whether she’s a person anymore, and Milo is gaslighting her into believing that she needs him. The main characters are Alex, Milo, unnamed nurse robot, and I might add a fully human character eventually. They are all at different amounts of humanity. And the story would kinda be about what makes you human and would get really dark at some points. Please please please ask me questions about them or yap at me in the comments.
