TOC: Section 1. Finding the color palette Section 2. Mask markings Section 3. The Stock Character Section 4. Figuring out Lore Section 5. My inspiration ___ 1. When I was first creating Lelio, I specifically wanted him to have a cape-like coat of sorts, that had tips that where set aflame. I kind of wanted it like this cuz I wanted him to have fire-based acts. Specifically one where he'd jump through burning hoops, or he'd make fools do so. But when I tried out this color scheme of red, orange, yellow, white, and pink. It just didn't look right. So I tried to exact opposites of the colors, Which were teal and gray. These colors looked way better and calmer, like the stock character. And for the gold. Originally, I wanted to use silver, but that mada the color palette blend to easily and it didn't look/feel right. So I did gold, and it made the palette pop. Making it much more lively. I subconsciously used the color rule. Making dark teal and dark grey be the main colors, gold be for the highlights, and teal for the mask and shoulder thingies. ___ 2. The eyes of the mask were meant to resemble the comedy and drama masks that you see in theater. Seeing that no one had chosen to make the eyes that way, I decided to. Wanting Lelio to be comedic and entertaining, yet having some deep dramatic lore for being this way. I decided the markings on the mask to be that way, because I wanted it to kind of be like Harlequin. (Harle, being my favorite.) Having them fit on specific eyes. ___ 3. I ended up learning more about the Lelio stock character through Google (already knowing of the other kinds, from taking a specific class in school). I read a bit, and tried to make my Lelio act like that one, while still keeping his own little made up personality in there. Seeing that Lelio was part of the Innamorati (young lovers), alike Pierrot, I decided Lelio would mostly be doing singing. Also knowing French is the *romantic language*, I decided to make him French...kinda. I did have to research a little bit though, because the rest of the group is Portuguese, and from Brazil. Luckily, there was a small country right next to Brazil, called: French Guinea. So it all worked out. ___ 4. Though, the lore was probably the hardest part. Since I am still trying to figure it out. What I am sure of, though, is that Lelio had been kicked out of his home village, being accused of being a monster. He ended up getting a bit hurt, losing a horn, hair being torn out. (This was a little bit after the others in the circus had escaped from the Ringmaster, and at this time, they were working on creating a circus of their own.) And Jester ended up being near the area at the time, (hunting maybe?) and was there to save him. That's how they met. After that, Jester had promised Lelio food and shelter inside the circus. But that's all I'm sure of. ___ 5. I was inspired by a lot of people and their own TFC OCs. But the ones that are most notable would be ash_heavenly, DPJHT, Acrow, and Ano. I give credit to each of these amazing people for inspiring me to make such a wonderful oc and for others to find joy in what I make. And credits to all of you, my followers and more, for helping me keep doing this kind of thing. Thnx for reading :)
