[Casus Belli] Witnessing the global security situation rapidly degrade, the Republic of Serbia formally extended an invitation to Montenegro to enter into a unified protection and economic pact to ensure our shared safety. Tragically, their administration bluntly declined, choosing isolation over stability. The current government in Podgorica has proven itself to be a failing state, utterly incapable of ensuring the survival, security, and prosperity of its own people. Therefore, the burden falls upon our shoulders to protect the innocent. We cannot stand by while our neighbors suffer, nor will we ignore the plight of the ethnic Serb population residing within Montenegro who are being neglected by an entrenched elite. To liberate the populace and restore regional stability, the Republic of Serbia is officially launching a peacekeeping and democratic intervention in Montenegro. Our grievance is not with the Montenegrin people, but with the regime that misleads them. Diplomacy has reached its end. A state of hostility now exists between the state of Serbia and the state of Montenegro. ========================================== [Humanitarian Intervention] (OoC Note: This is the plan/actions taken, but doesn’t determine what actually happens as that is up to the host) The goal is to topple the corrupt regime as soon as possible rather than a drawn-out conflict. The intervention begins, with over 50,000 Serbian personnel deployed in the form of two corps, on two separate fronts: 30,000 to an Eastern front, and 20,000 into a Northern front. In order to bypass the mountainous peaks, both the 1st Army Corps and 2nd Armored Corps would follow the river valleys. However, the Tara River Canyon poses a challenge to the Northern vector. Hours before the main push, elite air assault commandos from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade will utilize low-flying helicopters such as the Mi-35 to drop onto the cliff rims surrounding the Đurđevića Tara Bridge. Their sole objective is a lightning assault to disable any demolition charges wired to the bridge structure and clear the surrounding heights of enemy ATGM nests. Once surrounding heights are cleared or suppressed, the goal would be to capture and cross the bridge before it’s blown by defenders. Mechanized infantry will dismount from vehicles at critical chokepoints, advancing on foot along the ridge lines slightly ahead of the armored vehicles to flush out hidden ambushes. Attack helicopters will provide continuous close air support, acting as our eyes over the canyon walls. While the Northern Corps operates cautiously through the canyon terrain to pin down defenders, the Eastern Corps (30,000 troops) will exploit the significantly wider, flatter terrain of the Lim River valley to sprint heavy armor straight toward Podgorica, ensuring a rapid collapse of the central regime. Once Podgorica is toppled, the city will be secured, with two divisions splintering off from the capital to capture Cetinje, and sprinting to Bijela and Herceg Novi to completely cut off mainland Montenegro from its coast.
Arrows are the planned troop movements ig :p
