I wanted to make a test project to figure out pen clones. Then... I updated it. Three times. This was the result. Previous updates: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1375473759/ https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1375750655/ Now with tiles, a main menu, sound effects, commands, a generated map, controllable shapes (is that a word?), and a text engine. click or space to spawn selected shape 1-4 keys to set spawn shape to square, triangle, circle, or "line" (mathematically a line segment, except it's actually a really thin rectangle) WASD to scroll the camera up/down arrow keys to change spawn color L key to unlock camera in locked mode THE BORDER: *edge of the map *camera cannot scroll past *causes pen clones to turn around and play bounce sound effect COMMANDS */ key to ask for a command *type in the command you want *What they do: ctrl: Enter the list ID of the clone you want to control. The camera will lock to that clone, pressing W moves you forward and pressing A/D will turn you left and right. tp: enter X and Y to set the camera to dbg: each clone shows their ID above them, enter again to turn off spectate: same as ctrl, except you cannot control the clone and just watch favorite: asks for ID, enter the ID of the clone you want to add to your favorites and a star will appear over them that does not scroll offscreen sfx: turns on/off sound effects
Almost everything was made by me, with some inspiration from similar projects; thanks to scratch.mit.edu/projects/822455178/ for camera rotation code Tile engine is @griffpatch, edited significantly to use pen clones instead of normal ones Text engine is originally @mister_dazzling but I edited it and used it so many times that I might just make my own so I can stop giving credit Feel free to use code from this, just give credit :D https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/680809/ for distance block used for dynamic sound Changelog: 1.01: split up some of the code into custom blocks, making it easier to add to the project 1.1: tiles, main menu, custom SFX engine, map, controlling shapes, debug numbers, commands, shape count, text engine, coordinate display, direction display for spectate/control mode, favorites, NEW PROJECT
