--space/click for next, click & hold for zoom-- This isn't really a tutorial or anything, it's just a way I made this piece. Your art process isn't anywhere as important as technique and anatomy, and everyones art process is different :) In order: 1) Initial sketch I scribbled in precalc 2) Took that sketch and drew some lineart on art program. 3) I wanted to exaggerate the perspective, and messed around with the transform tool a little. Exaggerating the perspective really helped make the focus point (eyes) pop 4) figured out lighting scenario, kept the same line art above. I tend to just have one layer of lineart, and then kind of add new line art when I render 5)added color! I did this by setting the lighting scenario layer to multiply, and adding color underneath 6)began rendering in smaller areas, with consideration of how the light was affected by shape and density. This includes bounce light, and subsurface scattering (look it up!!) 7)fully rendered. I altered the angle of the chair, so the lines matched with the ones of the floor (ish). I also made one of the hands smaller because I though it looked more realistic. Not too sure how I feel about it tbh 8)close up 9) toes. As you can see, I often leave bits with lackluster rendering when doing bigger pieces 10)Ver with chains. I added a multiply layer on the bottom and made a gradient so I could have extra contrast when adding the chains 11)close up with chains 12) close up with higher contrast 13) thumbnail
