CHAPTER ONE - Returning home Nora opened the door. She felt like shaking, as if shaking the water off from the rain, like a calico. She didn’t know who she was. Yet. “How was your day?” Her mum asked. She had just looked up from some papers that she was staring at. “I was shopping for a present for my friend as you know, but it rained down. I got this calico cat keychain for me and a personalised one that looks like her cat. Then it started raining down so I had to run back,” she sighed, taking off her backpack and running up the stairs. She always sprinted up on all fours. She didn’t know why, she had done it since she was tiny. Her mum wouldn’t like it, so when she was looking, she would resist the urge and go up on two legs. She thought the urge was just a habit. She opened the door to the small spare room and looked at the small cat bed. “Hi little kittens!” She whispered. Atlas, a little fluffy kitten walked up to her with his bold green eyes. Atlas was a calico, just like his brother, sister and mother. He had a black side of his face and a ginger side, then the rest was all white. Nora had found the mum in a tree and she had liked her, more like, spiritual liking. Then she found out the cat was about to give birth, and she took her inside, where she had her 3 beautiful calico kittens. The mum was called Callie, a sister was called Willow, and a brother that had big ears was called Bat. They all loved Nora like they were all related. CHAPTER TWO - Awakening? “Class, open up your computers. Today we are picking our own things to research. Then we will do a presentation,” the teacher called as the class sat down. Nora knew what to type. She knew her screen was hidden, she had been sat away from other people, it was too overwhelming, too loud.. to tiring to talk to everyone asking a question. She was diagnosed with autism. Her finger flew across the buttons and she typed ‘Why are calicos attracted to me?’ She took a breath, preparing for a stupid answer. She clicked the enter button. ‘Therian’ popped up. She opened the therian wiki and started reading. When she had finished, her mind was buzzing with excitement. It was like the last puzzle piece had been put together on a 10,000 piece jigsaw. She knew what she was, and it was true She was a calico cat therian.
