=================================== READ THIS FIRST WARNING: -- 13+ -- Gore/Horror -- Trigger warning ========================================== It was another day, with C.C. hanging out with Elizabeth and Mrs. Afton while she cooked. I was sitting on the couch when William teleported in holding a strange flower. Oddly enough, he handed it to Mother. Mrs. Afton blushed and said, "Aww, thanks…"It was a white flower with a black center. It was very odd—William never gave out flowers. I shrugged it off and headed upstairs. As I was on my way back down holding a blanket, I heard a scream and saw C.C. and Liz rush toward me. Mom’s being scary!" yelled C.C.Liz nods quickly. I shrug and head downstairs to see a 13-foot-tall creature with long, twig-like arms. Its skin looks stretched and warped, with features pulled longer than normal. What is left of my mother is writhing and groaning. I take a step back in horror before bolting up the stairs, grabbing C.C. in the process. We reach Liz’s room, it being the closest option, and slam the door shut, locking it tight. I put C.C. down and shove a dresser in front of the door. "Are you guys okay?" I turn around quickly to check on them. They nod, not speaking at all. The light flickers. I shake my head. I felt fuzzy... and watched. Then I think... Where’s Gregory and the others?! A metallic stench of blood drifted from the doorway. Suddenly, loud banging echoed from the hall. I flinched and backed away, bumping straight into C.C, I managed to spot an air vent above Liz’s bed. “Oh guys, an air vent-...” I turn back… C.C and Liz’s faces morphed into blank yet oddly stretched out, their eyes bulging and skin almost ripping, I stare in horror before quickly scrambling away, practically flinging myself onto Liz’s bed and into the vent as the small ones reached and clawed at me from below, I scramble into the vent, breathing heavily and on the verge of tears. Hearing faint movements ahead, I crawl toward the sound, keeping a desperate lookout for Gregory, William, or anyone else. Relief and terror collide when I round the corner and find them—Gregory, William, and Glitchtrap are all right there. “Gregory!” I quickly hug him, happy my child is okay. Suddenly, a harsh screech echoes from directly beneath us. The metal vibrates against my chest, a brutal reminder that we are trapped in the vents, and something dangerous is roaming our house. "Michael, we need to get to the office," GlitchTrap says. I hesitate. "Why? Aren't we safe here?" "Because they'll find us. They can probably smell the blood," William says. I look down and notice blood dripping from my lower calf. I probably left a trail all the way from Liz's room. I snapped back, "How do you know that?" "Because that flower was an infectant, and I gave it to your mother to test." I stare at him, shocked and lost. The shock fades quickly. I am not surprised he ruined this family again. “Well YOU can go deal with it, I’m getting Gregory out of here.” I nudge Gregory as we head toward my room. Halfway there, I hear a loud banging sound. I look behind me. The twisted, combined bodies of Liz and C.C. have caught Glitchtrap and are aggressively tearing him apart. Before Gregory can turn to look, I shove him forward to keep him moving. The sudden push sends him stumbling onto a loose vent cover. It gives way under his weight, and he falls below, his screams echoing up into the vent shaft. I cover my mouth, stifling the sudden, horrifying phantom sensation of the moment C.C. was bitten. Holding back a loud cry, I force my legs to keep moving. I rushed out of the vents and onto the floor, sobbing for the first time in years. As I sit there, feeling as though my head is about to explode from the sheer pressure of the grief, I look up and see William. “Hey, ya ready to help me yet?” I stare up at him, entirely consumed by heartbreak. "I… wh… No?!" He glares down at me. Suddenly, his face glitches, twisting violently to reveal the same stretched, bulging features of the other entities my family has turned into. William opens his mouth to speak, but the only sound that tears through the room is a deafening alarm. It screams through the house, loud enough that I know every entity nearby has heard it. Panic spikes through me just as my bedroom door flies wide open. Before I could even see what was rushing toward me, I bolted for the door. I slammed it shut and threw my weight into barricading it, my heart hammering in pure panic. --{move down}--
--{PART TWO}-- Clamping my hands over my ears to block out the deafening alarm, I lunged at William. I tried anything to stop the noise—shoving a pillow over his face, punching, and striking him in a frantic blur. Suddenly, a heavy thud shook the room. Violent banging echoed from the hallway, and the makeshift barricade began to splinter. I tried everything to make it stop, struggling wildly in the chaos. Meanwhile, heavy thuds rattled the door as our barricade slowly began to splinter. Panic taking over, I grabbed a heavy wrench from the floor and swung it to defend myself. William collapsed, completely incapacitated. "Wait... no, no, no. I'm sorry," I stammered, backing away in horror. "You... you're already d34d. You can't d1e again?!" The door shattered open. I jolted awake, breathing aggressively. I looked around the room, trying to ground myself. Gregory stood nearby, silently watching me. On the nightstand, my alarm clock sat completely unplugged. But across the room, the nightmare seemed to linger as William sat injured from sleep punching, Mother bandaging him. ←IT WAS A DREAM→
