“Whoa, okay, what in the world?? Watch where you’re going, jerk!” I hissed, even though I wasn’t watching where I was going either. This girl was wearing headphones, which must’ve fallen around her neck when we walked into each other. She was holding her phone in her hand too. She had horrible posture, which I noticed as she got off the ground. I realized I wasn’t really intimidating, sitting on the floor with my ears pinned back and my face feeling hot from embarrassment, so I stood. I hate her already. “Oh, geez, sorry, Little Miss Snob.” The girl hissed. “Did I ruin your priceless hoodie? Hmm?” “What are you even still doing here?” I growled. “I’m part of the Dungeons and Dragons club, thank you very much.” The girl said. “Ah, you’re a nerd.” I chuckled. I thought people who play DnD wee cool, but I’m not giving her that satisfaction. “Just because I’m smarter than you, doesn’t make me a nerd.” The girl grinned. I hated how much she seemed to enjoy this. And how much I enjoyed this. “Elliot Ford, you are?” The girl’s long calico tail flicked with amusement. “Kayla Brooks.” I replied. “Are you sure you’re not rich?” Elliot grinned as we walked off. “I’m sure.” I rolled my eyes. “So if we ever go get food, you can pay. Since you’re rich.” Elliot ignored me. “As if I’d ever get food with you.” I scoffed. “We’re walking towards the ice cream place.” Elliot pointed out. I sighed. “Fine. But just cuz my parents aren’t getting me anytime soon.” “What are you doing still here, anyway?” Elliot asked. “…doesn’t matter.” I grumbled. Ha. As if I’d ever tell her.
