Jumping Pebbles Small update Meet Gemma Reperta (A gem found) ‘Pebbles’ is our newest addition to Shadows in the alpines! She’s a 9 year old draught. She’s starting eventing with us, but has a good background in flat work and jumping. After my ride with Raspberry, feeding the other horses, and bringing them out I tacked up Pebbles and brought her down to the arena. We had a 15 minute warmup, centered around turning. Lots of serpentines and circles, to get her to loosen her muscles and open her mouth to the bit. Afterwards I set up a few jumps. A simple line with one stride i between. After going over it to test the strides on her and to warmup I put it up to about 80 cm and she went over it perfectly. I then put it up again and the same results! I was delighted! After going over it at 1meter I decided to call it a day. I cooled her down and gave her a bath. Some treats as well of course!
