Friends I simply sat in the empty classroom Staring absentmindedly out into the world beyond. As I watched the rain drops meet the glass window, The laughter of a group of girls bounced off the walls of the hallway snapped me out of my thoughts. "It must be nice to have friends", I thought People who can call you out of darkness into the light People you can trust enough to share your secrets People who give you their shoulder to cry on People who drag you the rest of the way when all seems lost "Friends", I muttered the word under my breath and smiled at my reflection in the glass I may not reach where I want to today Or tomorrow Or ever But at least I have you. A friend Who'll always be on m side. Who'll help me carry my burdens when the world is unbearable. It may be friendship Or a little more than that. But still, I have you. I smiled and walked into the corridor, knowing I was walking to the one who made the whole world seem lighter for me. My friend My emotions consumed me as I embraced you. Only one thought was clear in the blur of tears. A friend.
