␥ Small Fanfic ␥ Camilla Keahi's POV - I had left Vera to grab better herbs but along the way I got lost and ended up in a land that was unclaimed by neither village. As I rounded a corner, I saw a rare flower near a river bank and it was beautiful, it smelled like a rose but it was nowhere near looking like a rose, it's orange yellow colors shone bright in the melting sun. The rushing water brought calm upon me and I decided to sit down and contemplate life. These past few months have been quite a ride. With the death of Vera, with other villages being killed off, with the merging of Sartuo, which is now called Vera, and Oreji, as well as the assigning of a new leader. If I rarely saw Asuka then, I rarely even see her now and don't even get me started on Kyle, I don't see him as much anymore, since he's the second in command now. I sighed as I stood, dusting off dust. "Well I should get going" I said to myself. I leaned down to grab the flower, but a distant sound caught my attention like something hitting a tree. I walked over to where the sound was, the sound was getting closer and it sounded like people fighting. I quickened the pace, the bushes rasping my arms. Before I could even reach the end a sharp pain exploded on my lower abdomen and my balance was thrown off, like being shoved. I fell to the ground with a soft but harsh thud, air escaping my lungs, I blinked as the pain finally sharpened and my vision became blurry "Oh dear shadows!" A high pitched voice came from inside the bushes, I lifted my head ever so lightly and saw a woman I didn't know, the land was supposed to be unclaimed "Marie! What happened!" I looked over to the new voice and saw the familiar blond, Medusa, standing beside the woman named Marie. She looked down at me her face paling as her mouth fell open. "Cam!" She shouted as she appeared on my side in seconds "I-I thought this land was clear" I whispered, laying my head back onto the ground. "Stay still, Cam, you'll be fine" she whispered, I looked up at her, worry swept into her green eyes but something else was there too, but I couldn't make it out. "No. I won't, the arrow has already done its damage" I muttered, the darkness was pulling at my eyes. "Don't close your eyes Cam" she muttered "I'm tired" I told her. I looked over to the woman she called Marie and the guilt her face wore, I felt Medusa stand up and start cursing at the guilty woman. I looked up at the darkening sky, a group of birds flew alongside the orange hue of the sunset. I sighed and my breath was getting stuck in my throat. (No ones POV) Medusa's sharp eyes looked over to the choking Cam and she got onto her knees as they softened "No, no, no... Cam! Please no!" Tears welled up in her eyes as Cam closed her eyes "Cam! Stay with me, dear, don't fall asleep!" She shouted. Cam looked at Medusa through half-lidded eyes, clearing her throat, she rasped "I'm going home. Let me sleep Medusa." She licked her dry lips "Tell Asuka and Kyle that I'll miss them" she looked back up to the sunset sky and smiled "I still had so much to see" she paused swallowing before continuing "but I'm happy to be able to see the sunset one more time..." with that, Cam closed her eyes and Medusa's head fell onto her shoulder with a heaving sob. ... Medusa walked into Vera's camp with a lifeless Cam on her back, and saw Asuka walking out of the leaders house with Kyle and the medic, Veronica "Do any of you know where I can find Cam, I need to speak with her" Medusa over heard. "Asuka" she whispered, Asuka looked up at her and her face crumbled as she saw the girl on Medusa's back "No...No!" she shouted as a tear fell from her eyes.... ---
