Scratch blocks. An emulated PC. ACTUAL WINDOWS!! :D This is NOT a pretend desktop or an animation of Windows booting! This project emulates a PC and runs the real Windows 1.04 IBM PS/2 edition, complete with its own programs, graphics, keyboard input, and PS/2 mouse! >>> RUN IT HERE! <<< https://experiments.turbowarp.org/pointerlock/1382586347 IMPORTANT: Use the pointer lock experiment linked above! The normal Scratch player cannot run this project as intended. Opening it here and seeing the TurboWarp warning is expected. >>> HOW TO START <<< 1. Open the link above and let the project load. 2. Use a 640 x 480 stage, 60 FPS, and turbo mode. 3. Press the green flag, then click inside the stage to capture your mouse. 4. Let the computer boot! If it stops at the DOS prompt, enter these commands, pressing Enter after each line: CD \WINDOWS WIN >>> YOU ARE NOW IN WINDOWS! <<< Move your mouse, open menus, double-click programs, and explore! Try opening Notepad and typing something. That is Windows handling your input inside an emulated computer, not a Scratch sprite pretending to be an app! Press Esc to release your mouse back to the browser. Click the stage again to capture it. Getting the mouse working became an entire adventure. Even the startup screen put up a fight. But here we are: running Windows with Scratch blocks!! >>> PLEASE READ <<< The stage must be exactly 640 x 480. Making the browser window bigger is not the same thing! Change Custom Stage Size in TurboWarp's Advanced Settings if the warning appears. Emulation takes work, so give it time to boot! Bugs may still appear. Found something strange? Leave a comment explaining what you did and what happened. Boot it up and take this little computer for a spin! :D #Windows #Emulator #Retro #Computer #TurboWarp
