Salem Hale (Sae), age 18, female she/her. Pansexual. Appearance: (Prior to blast) She had soft brown hair, paired with dark brown eyes. She wore hoodies and jeans more than often, making that her favorite outfit. She had black worn-down converse she had since she was young, but after the blast, her brown hair turned green, and her brown eyes turned black. She wears a simple tank-top now, and light gray cargo pants with black boots. She also wears goggles on her head that she covered with black duct-tape, allowing her to concentrate on Astral Projection even better. She also covers her ears with earplugs she keeps in the pouch on her hip. She has a black tattoo from her elbow to her shoulder, and her chest to her chin, making her look even more Sci-Fi like. She smears on black lipstick sometimes, but not often because she doesn’t have anyone to impress. Personality: She’s always been a kind person, finding joy in making others happy. She was creative and intelligent, always looking for ways to improve. She loves animals of all kinds, name it and she loves it. Since she woke up after the blast, she’s emotionless. She hasn’t felt anything except for an emptiness that she can’t seem to fill. Oftentimes, she finds herself zoning out and staring at the walls of the makeshift home she attempted to create, but it crumbles a little more when she forgets to shut the door softly. She tells herself that if she ever found another person, she’d probably just tell them to get lost. Power: Astral projection. She can separate her consciousness from her own body, allowing her to scout areas, pass through walls, and observe unseen. The drawbacks of her power usually don’t concern her because there’s been nobody to interfere with it. She uses it to search for other survivors, but always comes up empty. Strengths: She’s incredibly intelligent, allowing her to work fast under pressure and in life or death situations. She also is very quiet on her feet, allowing her to move quickly and silently meaning she hardly ever attracts attention from stray bots. Her power also allows her to search from a remote location. Weaknesses: When she uses her power, her body is completely comatose and vulnerable to outside forces. She has to completely isolate herself in order to be sure that it won’t malfunction. She’s careful because if it does, she could lose her entire soul. Backstory: Before the blast, she was just a college student, working to get her master’s degree in technology so that she could fit in with the rest of the world. Her parents both vanished in the blast, but prior to it, she loved them both dearly, resulting in her heart becoming completely broken when she couldn’t find them after awakening. She loved tinkering with things like old, broken computers or mini robots that were easily controlled. After the blast, she woke up with an extreme migraine, so painful that she vomited and passed out again. When she finally came to in the after-math of her home crumbling, she had no injuries. Only a strange image in her mind that showed a view of herself, like she was watching from outside of her body, and strange green hair. Since then, she’s learned that her new superpower is Astral Projection. She’s seen no other survivors and has yet to. She wanders around often, unsure of what to make of the world.
