53. Slow day w/ Ebony - - - - Today I took Ebony out for some practice! I didn't have anything specific in mind, so I just kind of walked around and whenever there was a problem, I would work on it with her until it was done, then continue. LAP 1 In lap 1, I just walked her around and she did fine but had a little trouble bridling. Once I got her bridled, she was okay. LAP 2 On our second lap, someone dropped a saddle nearby and it thudded, and she freaked out. She came off the rail and jogged around the middle of the arena for a couple seconds, but I got her under control and made her do small, controlled circled until I decided she would be ready to get back on the rail. LAP 3 During our third lap, after the whole deal with lap 2, she kept anticipating another thud and got all twitchy and anxious. She kept speeding up and getting all wiggly with the reigns whenever we passed the side of the arena where the person dropped their saddle. Anytime she got fidgety, I backed her up a few steps, waited a couple seconds, then continued. LAP 4 After all the excitement, I finally got her to calm down and I just walked her out. She was calmer now that we did some drills and responded to my bridling more. She was also WAY less twitchy and nervous. We walked our lap calmly and I decided that we should take it slow. I wanted to trot with her today but I'll save it for another day. We did this for about an hour and I decided her lesson was done. She definitely improved and had a noticeable difference in her movements! - - - - Creds! Tack: @Introverted_Keeper Rider: @-TheConjuring BG: @MythtopianPegasus Ebony: @Gxlden-Pixie <33
