Happy National Fox Day! Foxes are amazing, intelligent, smart and very cute animals! And they are very cool to learn about! There are 12 types of foxes that are considered "true" foxes. They are part of the vulpine family. They are the: Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) Arctic Fox (Vulpes lagopus) Fennec Fox (Vulpes zerda) Pale Fox (Vulpes pallida) Cape Fox (Vulpes chama) Rüppell's Fox (Vulpes rueppellii) Tibetan Sand Fox (Vulpes ferrilata) Bengal Fox (Vulpes bengalensis) Blanford's Fox (Vulpes cana) Corsac Fox (Vulpes corsac) Kit Fox (Vulpes macrotis) Swift Fox (Vulpes velox) One of my favorite fox facts is that arctic foxes don't start to shiver until it is -94 degrees Fahrenheit! :0 Fennec foxes’ ears not only help them hear well, but they also help cool them down! :) also red foxes aren’t always red! There are different color variations like the silver fox, marble fox, and cross fox! - (credit to babaisyou544 for the awesome fact)! We are so lucky that there is a day to calibrate them!
