serious codeless project here from the guy who likes to code TL;DR: using other ppl's ai is bad, trying to pass ai art off as your own is bad, training ai off of unconsenting artists is bad^2 (bad squared), using your own ai to train off of consenting artists AND NOT claiming the results to be your own work AND crediting all artists involved is not bad actually. please dont put me in a boiling cauldron, i promise doge soup doesnt taste good
hi. i like developing things. recently, i've realized that being anti-ai and actively making neural networks (ai) over at @anonbargain at the same time contradicts itself. so, i did some reflecting, and here's what i came up with: quick things: YES ai using up all of our freshwater is bad YES datacenters should probably be relocated as to not be as detrimental NO ai should not get fed our personal info NO companies shouldnt use ai to get and sell our info (and im pretty sure that its illegal) i view programming as an art, much like painting or making music (i like doing those too.) AI actually takes a lot of programming to make from scratch (speaking from experience.) and naturally, people would want to **do things** with the ai that they made. e.g: art. i believe that this isnt bad IF AND ONLY IF it follows a few conditions: 1. it must be actually yours. using another ai falls under my terms of art theft, which is not nice :( 2. you cannot claim that you made the art by yourself. crediting yourself for something you didnt do is misleading, which is also not nice :( 3. you cannot train your AI on unconsenting artists. i believe that artists should have the final say over their art. if they don't want it fed into ai, dont feed it into ai. i also belive that contributing art for ai training should be an opt-in, because most people do not want their art to go to ai, even if they dont explicitly say it. 4. all artists that contributed to the training must be credited. i view training ai on art as something similar to a multi-animator-project (MAP), and everyone who took part in it should be properly credited for their stuff. if you pass all 4 of my conditions? :D ! if not? :( ... remember that this is only subjective guys please dont harass me over this i know this is controversial but we should still be respecting each other's opinions, right??
