Arc 1: The Beginning “ = talking / = thinking Episode Six: Her New World. The scene is on a computer going through documents. Some tab reads: “Five Parasites” “Inherited Traits” “The Elder” And a few more until it opens a new tab. The newly created document is named: “First Human Hosted”. Millard) /…/ Millard) /If only the four haven’t been there. I could have had The Parasite out and far from the university. Axel…/ Millard) /He may be Head of Research, but using humans to experiment as the first test is… interesting./ Millard looked at his screen, and started typing. Nox was curious. He kindly sat by Hazel but a bit too close. Hazel scooted back a bit and understanding, Nox gave her some space. Eventually the food had arrived and all gathered their assigned food. *grabbing his hand wrapped Sub* Vincent) “Wow. How’d they guess I love Sub sandwiches?” /this school has ways too much info./ *tasting the broth of her ramen* Cheryll) “hmm, the broth needs a bit more pepper- oh, is this shio based? Truly a great choice. Compliment to the chef!” Nox takes his Chicken Katsu and what seems to be some Alfredo. He places Hazel’s pasta in front of her and begins to chow down on his dish. In the middle of eating, he notices Hazel, curiously looking at her food, like she doesn’t know what it exactly is. Nox) “Hazel? Do you know what you’re looking at?” Hazel) *shakes her head. “No”*. Nox) “Oh, it’s food…? You eat it.” Hazel looks at Nox, and looks back at her plate. Food, she thinks. Soon right after, she awkwardly picks up the fork, and bites. She chews and swallows. It takes a few seconds for her to process and her eyes suddenly lighten up. She actually looks happy. *smiles* Hazel) /oh. That’s… nice. Mmm, really nice./ Nox) “heh, you like it don’t you? … you’re kinda cute, don’t you think? Hazel) *stops at Nox’s comment and blushes. She doesn’t know what this new feeling is. She’d never experienced this before… ever.* Nox) “heh… you kinda remind me of someone… but that’s not important right now.” Nox continues eating and Hazel just thinks. What does he mean? I don’t understand, but I feel like I should feel… sorry for him. As they ate, The Recoverer comes across the room and stares at Hazel. Hazel notices, gets scared and hides behind Nox, covering her face with her scarf. Nox, wonders about Hazel’s sudden fear of the random armed and suited person, understands that Hazel has a young mind, and can see why The Recoverer would be a bit scary, and so he comforts her, and The Recoverer leaves. Much later Vincent and Cheryll were able to convince one of the workers to get them something to do in the meantime, which they brought some paper and pencils, some books, and a deck of cards. While Cheryll and Vincent were playing some card games, Nox introduced Hazel to drawing and she quickly learned the basics. Hazel tried drawing something she saw while being escorted. It was just hallways. Nox) “Haze look here. I got something to show you.” Nox shows a little sketch of Hazel, and hands it to her. She gestures to ask if it’s her and yes. It’s you. After a while, Cheryll takes the group together and starts reading one of her favorite novels. Vincent, starting to get impatient questions how long the extermination of the last remaining Shrooms will take. Cheryll) “Vinny, don’t worry and chill. Aren't you taking in the fact that other Shrooms could have been called? Maybe that one quadrupedal variant… uh. What was it called again?” Nox) “ I believe it’s called an Explo-Shroom? Is that correct Vee?” Vincent) “Correct, although you are using a very common nickname, as they are classified as; Detonation Shroom… but the community does have some humorous moments.” Cheryll) “Alright, now let’s get this story started.” … … Millard) “Good. They’re treating her kindly.” Millard) “Sigh, I know you’re here. Why haven’t I suspected sooner. Purple substance?” … … Log , Human Hosted. Interesting. Very, very interesting. As the first Undeveloped to reach adulthood, it is to be noted that it has inherent the age of its host and seems to have a personality based on the organism’s age. That should be it for now. Millard signing off. … Wake up. It’s time. I need your help. Your Elder needs your help. 10/13/30
