...Link’s P.O.V... As the red smoke cleared, the silence of the desert returned. I sheathed the Master Sword and looked around the cavernous space beneath the giant skull.Deep within the shadows of the Great Skeleton, something caught my eye. A soft, rhythmic pulse of amber light was radiating from a small alcove buried beneath centuries of sand. As I stepped closer, the pocket of my tunic grew incredibly warm. The Secret Stone was reacting to whatever was hidden there.I brushed away the loose sand, uncovering an ancient Zonai pedestal embedded into the stone floor. Resting in the center was a beautifully carved artifact—a metallic, circular crest shaped like a dragon biting its own tail, inlaid with glowing green Zonaite. The moment I approached, the artifact clicked, opening up like a mechanical flower to reveal a perfectly smooth, hollow slot in the center. ...Riju’s P.O.V... Sidon and I walked over, our eyes wide as we watched the ancient device come to life."Look," I whispered, pointing to the glowing carvings. "Those are the same Zonai runes found in the sky islands. Link, I think this was left behind by the ancient sages. It’s a calibration pedestal."Link reached into his pocket and pulled out his new Secret Stone. It was vibrating so intensely that it almost hummed. With a steady hand, he placed the stone directly into the center of the artifact.Instantly, the dragon crest spun. A bright beam of pure emerald light shot straight up into the roof of the cavern, reflecting off the ancient bones. The pedestal whirred, channeling centuries of dormant Zonai energy directly into the stone. The rough edges of the Secret Stone smoothed out, its faint glow transforming into a brilliant, blinding aura that filled the entire cavern with warmth. ...Sidon’s P.O.V... "Incredible!" I beamed, shielding my eyes from the magnificent light. "The power radiating from it is breathtaking!"The pedestal slowly went quiet, and the mechanical dragon petals opened back up. Link reached down and picked up the stone. It looked entirely different now—crystal clear, perfectly polished, and burning with a steady, magnificent power.Link closed his hand around it, and a visible wave of energy rippled outward, making the sand around his boots swirl in a perfect circle. He looked up at us, a rare, confident smile crossing his face. His new Secret Stone had finally reached its full potential. Whatever the Yiga Clan—or anyone else—had planned next, we were ready for them. ...Riju’s P.O.V... "There is no time to waste," I said, looking at the newly empowered stone in Link's hand. "Zelda and Paya are still waiting for us in Kakariko Village. They need to know the threat is gone."Link gave a firm nod. He pulled out the Purah Pad once more, his fingers flying across the screen to target the travel gate back to the village. Sidon and I stepped in close, gripping his shoulders. With a familiar flash of brilliant blue data-light, the desert heat vanished, and the cool, mountain air of Kakariko wrapped around us instantly. We materialized right back at the edge of the village square. ...Zelda’s P.O.V... I had been pacing nervously near the altar, holding Paya's hand to keep us both calm. The villagers were still gathered, talking in hushed, worried whispers after the sudden Yiga interruption.Suddenly, a circle of blue light flared at the entrance. Out stepped Link, Riju, and Sidon."They're back!" Paya gasped, letting out a massive sigh of relief. We rushed toward them. I scanned them quickly—there was no blood, no injuries, and all three of them looked completely unharmed. But as Link stepped into the lantern light of the square, I noticed something incredible. The Secret Stone in his hand wasn't just glowing anymore. It was radiating a flawless, brilliant aura that felt as ancient and powerful as the kingdom itself."The Yiga have been dealt with," Riju announced proudly to the crowd, her voice carrying across the quiet square. "They will not be bothering this village again."Paya looked from Riju's confident smile to the blindingly beautiful stone in Link's hand, her eyes wide with absolute wonder. "Link... you did it. You kept us safe."Link gave Paya a gentle, reassuring nod, then looked at me. The threat was gone, the stone was awakened, and the village was finally at peace. It was time to give Impa the quiet, beautiful farewell she truly deserved.
...Paya’s P.O.V... The villagers let out a collective sigh of relief, and the heavy tension in the square finally evaporated. Zelda stepped back up to the podium, her voice steady and full of grace as she finished her eulogy for grandmother Impa.To close the ceremony, we each lit a traditional Sheikah lantern. Together, the entire village released them into the night sky. I watched the dozens of glowing lights drift up into the mountain breeze, floating gracefully over the rooftops of Kakariko. It was exactly the peaceful, beautiful farewell my grandmother deserved. But as the crowd began to disperse and head back to their homes, a strange, nagging feeling settled in my stomach.I looked over at Link, Sidon, and Riju. They were standing near the edge of the square, with Link tucking the newly empowered, brilliantly glowing Secret Stone securely into his pouch. They had tracked down the Yiga Clan, fought off an ambush at the Great Skeleton, found an ancient Zonai artifact, and made it back across Hyrule—all in less than an hour.I walked over to them, my brow furrowed as I kept my voice low."Link... Chief Riju... Prince Sidon," I murmured, looking between the three heroes. "I am deeply grateful for your bravery today. But... does none of this feel strange to you? ...Riju’s P.O.V... I tilted my head, looking at the young Sheikah chief. "What do you mean, Paya? The Yiga challenged us, we outsmarted them, and we reclaimed what was yours.""That's exactly it," Paya said, her eyes shifting nervously toward the dark shadows of the surrounding cliffs. "The Yiga Clan is obsessed with Master Kohga and their schemes. They knew Link was incredibly strong. Why would they leave a riddle that was so simple to solve? And why would they leave an ancient artifact that perfectly upgrades Link's stone just sitting there for you to find?"Her words hung in the cool night air. The proud smile dropped right off Sidon’s face, and he gripped the handle of his trident a little tighter.I looked at Link. His stoic expression had completely changed. His hand instantly dropped back down to the hilt of the Master Sword, his sharp blue eyes scanning the darkness. Paya was right. It had been entirely too easy. The Yiga Clan hadn't been trying to ambush us at all—they had intentionally led us away from something else. ...Zelda’s P.O.V... A chilling realization washed over us as Paya’s words sank in. Before we could even process the trap we had walked into, a breathless Sheikah scout sprinted into the village square, his face pale with panic."Princess Zelda! Chief Riju!" he gasped, clutching his side. "It’s Lookout Landing... the Yiga struck while the strike team was in the desert!"My heart dropped. Link didn't hesitate. He pulled out the Purah Pad, gathered the remaining Sages—Tulin and Yunobo—and grouped us all together. In a massive flash of blue data-light, we fast-traveled straight to the Central Hyrule gate. When the light faded, my breath caught in my throat. Lookout Landing, the bustling heart of our reconstruction efforts, was completely in ruins. ...Link’s P.O.V... The wooden barricades were smashed, tents were torn down, and debris was scattered across the muddy courtyard. Smoke rose from the cooking pots, but thankfully, there was no blood and no injuries. Scared researchers and guards were already pulling themselves out of the rubble, coughing but completely unharmed. The Yiga hadn't come to eliminate the staff—they had come for a heist."Princess! Link!"Purah came stumbling out of her ruined research lab, her usually perfect hair wildly disheveled and her goggles sitting crooked on her forehead. She looked absolutely furious."They bamboozled us!" Purah cried out, stomping her foot. "The Kakariko distraction was a total setup! They waited until the heavy-hitters left, dropped a bunch of smoke bombs, and raided my entire workshop!" ...Sidon’s P.O.V... I looked around the wreckage, my jaw tight with anger. "What did they take, Lady Purah? Tell us, and we shall retrieve it at once!"Purah held up a tablet, her hands shaking slightly. "It’s bad, Princey. Really bad. They didn't just take spare parts. They stole my experimental long-range Zonai transmitters, three modified autonomous Guardian parts, and worst of all... the blueprints for the Skyview Towers! If they figure out how to hijack our mapping network, they can track every single move we make across Hyrule!"Link stepped forward, his eyes narrowing as he looked at the ruined lab. He reached into his pouch, his fingers tightening around the fully powered Secret Stone we had just retrieved. The Yiga Clan had played us perfectly. They didn't want the stone yet—they wanted the technology to build something much, much bigger.
