(Totally didn't inspire this off of Camilla Carmine's episode in HB idk what ur talking about--) The crew stepped into a large building, a skyscraper, larger than anything they'd every seen, save the nearby mountains. "Woah..." Leo sighed. "That's their headquarters. The board will be in there, whether they actually listen or not... it's impossible to tell, but hopefully they'll find us entertaining enough to see us." Eve said, glaring at the doors as they opened for them. "Then let's do this.." Saber breathed. They met a nomin at the desk who groaned and admitted them into the office spaces. They made their way through the glass walled hallways and meeting rooms towards the admittance room. "We're here to see the Boss." Eve said to the receptionist. The nomin laughed and went back to her work. Eve glared daggers at the nomin. The nomin glanced back up at Eve, rolled her eyes, and pressed a button. The Boss stepped out of the room almost immediately. "Is this the group Yven said was coming?" She asked the nomin. "Oh- um... I'm not sure ma'am." The nomin stuttered, flustered by her previous arrogance. "It's fine." The Boss sighed, "Just send them in." The party stepped into the large office. "Do you little ones know who I am?" The Boss asked, standing at her seat on the far head of the meeting table. "Um.. well, we know you're in charge of Carnie, right?" Jinx piped. "My name is Calida-Vesta." The Boss said calmly, tracing a hand along the table as she walked along the head. "And I know why you're here." She said sharply, flashing a piercing glance at them from across the room. "Uh.. you do?" Saber gulped. "You want our crystal." She snapped, the bleeding red stone suddenly appearing in her hand. "Y-yes ma'am." V stuttered. "You'll have to earn it first." Calida called, spreading her wings and launching herself to the ceiling. "Oh s--t." Eve prepped herself for a fight, and then immediately stopped. "I.. can't fly. Can I..." She sighed. "Jinx, Leo, V? Some help?" Saber asked. "Uh.. I don't like.. fight people.." Jinx winced. "And I don't know HOW." Leo wavered. "I've never fought in the air before, but.. I can try." V said, spreading his wings and launching himself towards Calida. She dodged him easily and threw him off with her tail. "What the-" V faltered, "How is she doing that?" Calida sighed, "You all really know nothing about battle, do you?" "Not really..." Leo exhaled. "Could you teach us?" Jinx asked eagerly. Calida hesitated. "Hm.." "Fine. The others can wait outside." Saber and Eve protested, but Calida insisted. (Continue in Notes and Credits!!)
Continue from instructions here! :D "So... where do we start?" Jinx asked, excited to learn.. well.. anything new. "Hm.. Defense." Calida said, "Protecting yourself and yours on the battlefield is your number one objective. Always." "Got it!" V cheered, "So.. how.. do we do that?" Calida sighed, "Follow my lead." She held her right arm up. The pupils did the same. She swept her tail against their legs. The pupils toppled. Calida sighed, again. "DEFENSE. Don't let your enemy distract you. Use your wings. They might be your one advantage." V lightly flapped his wings. "What if I don't have feathers?" Jinx asked, her wings were more moth-like and buggish. "Fly up to the skylight." Calida ordered. Jinx flew to the skylight and spread her wings as wide as they could go. Colors and beams of light filled the room immediately. "Distract them with that." Calida said, quickly getting back to the others. "You two. Baff your opponents face with your feathers, that's your best bet for distractions." "Yes ma'am." They said, trying it out on each other. "Wow, I couldn't see a THING while he was doing that." Leo exclaimed. "Exactly. If your opponent can't see, it's harder for them to fight back. Once you have them distracted, then you attack." "How?" Jinx asked, "Like... just with our bare hands or...?" "Like this." Calida slammed her leg into V and grabbed his wing with her tail, throwing him to the ground. "Ow.." V winced. "so like this..?" He baffed her face with his wings, grabbed her arm, pulled her towards him, wrapped his tail around her leg, and threw her down. "Good. Very good." Calida breathed. "Next." Leo took a breath and tried it himself, flapping his wings around Calida's face and rearing back, kicked her with both legs and the force of his entire body. Calida fell to the ground immediately "very good." She coughed. She stood up and brushed herself off "Last one?" Jinx flashed her wings through the light and blinded Calida just long enough the fly down and grab her, Jinx lifted her to the top of the room "And if you didn't have wings, I could just drop you." Jinx piped. "Is that right?" She let Calida go and she laughed, "Yes. That would be effective." "You three are certainly... interesting. You're nowhere near being able to face against a properly trained fighter. But your certainly good for.. apparent pacifists." She said, leading them towards the door. The nomen thanked her and almost walked out the door before hearing Calida behind them. "Aren't you forgetting something?" She called. They gasped and turned around. Calida flashed the crystal in her hands again before quickly launching herself up to the ceiling. "Oh lords.." Jinx chirped. They dashed frantically after her, Jinx raced up to the skylight and tried to aim the beams of light right in Calida's face. She succeeded just long enough for Leo and V to cover her front and back. Carmine tried to kick back, but Leo quickly flapped and dodged. He pushed her back towards V and V grabbed her wings with his hands and wrapped his tail around her legs. Calida was defeated. "Ugh.." She groaned, "Take it." "You've earned it." V let her go and the three grinned at each other, then at Calida. "Thanks Ms. Vesta!" "Calida-Vesta.. but you're welcome." She sighed, almost cracking a smile at her now (slightly) accomplished trainees. They met the others in the lobby, triumphantly showing off the crystal they'd won. Eve leaned towards Calida. "You let them win didn't you Carmine?" "Hush." She snapped. "Knew it." Eve smirked. "Don't get cocky." Calida flashed a glare at her, "You know full well you aren't welcome here anymore." Eve winced, her headache was back, and worse than before. She shook it off and continued on. Eve sighed, "I'm aware. I had to come." "For this?" Calida griped, gesturing towards Eve's celebratory companions. "To save the continent? Yes." Eve breathed, glaring right back at the red fighter beside her. "You know this won't work.. right?" Calida said, staring straight ahead. "We'll see." Eve said, striding over to her friends. Everyone was still cheering for the collection of their first continent saving-crystal. "Off to Panen!" Saber said, grinning. "Yeah.. to Panen!" Eve managed. To Panen.
