Lately, I've been going on Reddit(yes im sorta a redditor shut up), and I've been seening this guy claiming that Torvosaurus gurneyi is invalid. So, they provided some sources, so I investigated them to see if their right. Well, most of the sources didn't relate to the argument: One was about the Torvosaurus tanneri skeleton "Elvis", which didn't talk about T.gurneyi. Another is an internet archive link which talks about the unnamed German Species Torvosaurus. Idk why that one was there. One I literally cannot access (nvm i can, but it doesn't really reveal anything useful). However, the last source(Vertpaleo) is the most important, as it talks about the Elvis specimen, which "apparently" caused gurneyi to be invalid. So, I read the thing for 440 pages to page 440, which contains the information. The paper mostly goes into the Elvis specimen, but it does briefly say that it shares stuff with T. gurneyi despite being a T.tanneri. They don't go into much detail though. Based on that, by best guess on the current situation is that it's in a similar situation to Suchomimus, where it was mentioned that it may be a junior synonym but it wasn't the main goal of the paper so we don't have that much evidence on either side. tl;dr: Nobody's bothered researching it that much, so us regular dudes on the internet can't say for certain yet.
Can't provide links for some reason. I've put it inside the project.
