Im not sure if I had to research this because it's acute/temporary, but better safe than sorry (and besides, research is kinda fun!) Laryngitis is caused by an inflammation of the voicebox, which can cause your voice to sound weak and hoarse. It can be caused by overuse, illness, and quite a few other things, but overuse is often most common in media (I think? I don't have the evidence to back that claim up but I swear a good portion of laryngitis in fiction is caused by voice overuse.) Eruptionpaw herself has overused her voice, due to multiple threads involving her screaming for minutes on end or yelling from a really long distance away. Laryngitis can cause loss of voice, coughing, throat pain, and pain while talking. It also lasts three to seven days, which I will be equating to 10 threads (or maybe just 5 or 7? I'm not sure if its overdoing or underdoing it.) of her suffering from it. Eruptionpaw herself will mainly be struggling with speaking and have pain in her throat for the duration of those threads, and I may ask for a "healing" thread with a medic as one of the last few. Not the last. I want to actually roleplay her gradually recovering after that. A cat would also not have very effective medicine for this. But I'd imagine that's an issue for said medic to figure out. I'm not sure what else to write :/ hope this is sufficient! ^^
