- This project hasn't been shared because others' ideas aren't actually good or effective. It's been shared to give you another option and idea to beat your writer's block. - The approach is effective/ineffective depending on the person. For example, this way helps me but may not for somebody else. -------------------------------------------------------------------------How to beat writer's block: - There are a few things that help with my writer's block. These few ideas work for me, but sometimes, one method works better than the other. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Dreams: - My dreams have the most ridiculous as stuff going on in them, and sometimes, it's the exact amount of absurdity I put into some of the stuff I write. - I write down most of the dreams I remember. I started writing it down for later 8 days ago but have used them on the spot for a while now. - Over the past four days, I've gotten 30+ dreams written down. I've managed to get 3 - 6 dreams a night that I've remembered. - The reason I write it down is because I either get a bunch of dreams in a night or no dreams at all. That is excluding the ones I can't remember when I wake up. - Since I get so many dreams, I get many ideas for future writing. - Sometimes, I get only one or two dreams a night if they're long ones. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Daydreaming + Before bed: - I daydream a lot. When I daydream, it's easier for me to make ideas for stories because I'm doing it subconsciously, if you get what I mean. - I also think a lot before sleeping. Nightdreaming, I guess. but not asleep. I'm awake. Before I sleep, - I usually get a bunch of good ideas and I just make stories in my head. - Daydreamed and night dreamed stories are easier for me to remember, so I can just write down the story in simple terms when I draft. - Then, I make the final version like a proper, detailed story. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Real life events: - You can base your stories off real life events, or you can make it entirely or almost entirely about them. - Something happened recently which I found story-worthy. I'm currently working on story-ising it. - Basically, this method is making a recount. But if you don't want that, you can word it as a narrative, as I always do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fanfiction: - You're getting inspo from tv shows, movies and other books. - These are also really fun, since it gives you full leverage in designing your AUs. - One of the longer dreams I recently had was a fanfic, and I loved it so much I plan to put it into writing. - Fanfiction covers all genres, so writers can use this to their discretion.
