The Runaway Chapter 8 In the Morning Medusa walked to the training room were both Dark Fire and Marie were waiting to start training. Medusa had left her chipped Chakrams in her room cause they were using wooden tools. Marie Held 2 crossbows Dark Fire had 1 . 3 quivers full of arrows sat on the ground. "Hello Marie said, her blue eyes looking at Medusa. "Today I will be showing you how to use a crossbow" Marie said tossing one of the crossbows at Medusa who caught it from the sky. Medusa was then tossed a quiver full of wooden arrows. Dark Fire had picked up a quiver before walking to were 3 line were placed. Medusa walked to one of the empty ones. ahead of Medusa was a white block of wood, with yellow and red rings on them. "These were Shadow Warrior crossbows they are made to only use the arrows we have, That was so if a monster learned to use a crossbow they wouldn't work with any arrows" Marie Informed. " First you put the arrow right in this" Marie pointed to a straight line in the wood of the crossbow. Medusa placed it in the slit, after looking at the flattened tip of the training arrow. "Now you pull this string back" Marie added Medusa doing what Marie was doing. the crossbows string was locked by what was like a revolvers c0ckpin but wood (IDK what its actually called). The Shadow Warrior then aimed it at the piece of wood, "Now to shoot it you, press the trigger" Marie pressed the c0ckpin, the Arrow flying past the target before running out of momentum and hitting the ground near the end of the marble wall. Medusa then aimed hers at the wood before pressing the wooden trigger. The Arrow flew hitting the right bottom corner of the wood before falling to the ground next to the wooden stand(a easel to be specific ) that was holding the wood. "Ok good for your first shot have you used a crossbow before?" Marie asked. "No I haven't" Medusa replied only have used Chakrams. Marie then shot an arrow from her crossbow. It landed right in the center of the piece of wood that was a yellow circle, before falling to the ground. What a show off Medusa thought before aiming for the center hitting the outer ring of the wood. I swear I aimed for the center. WHY DID IT MISS? Medusa thought as she watched the arrow hit the ground. ALL OF HER SHOTS MISSED HOW WAS SHE GONNA MASTER USING IT IF SHE DIDN'T AIM THAT WELL? Marie had shot all of her arrows each of em hitting the same spot. Wow watching others who were better than you was sure helping. "Don't forget I've had lots of training before this" Marie told Medusa. Well that was true so it was normal that they were better. Medusa Lifted her crossbow at the Target. pressing the trigger The wooden arrow flew from the crossbow. The Arrow hit the inner red ring. Medusa watched as the Arrow fell to the ground. Medusa then took another shot. The Arrow slamming into were it hit last time. Medusa looked at the target Now the center was the target. Medusa continued to fire until there was one last arrow left. She placed the Arrow into the slit on the crossbow. Putting her eye to the end of the crossbow and closing her other eye she aimed for the center. The arrow slammed into the yellow circle of the center with a thud. She did it she got it in the center. Medusa looked around none of the quivers holding a Arrow. "Good shot but you only hit it once, but we can take a small break" Marie said. "Ok I think ill take the break" Medusa replied. "Alright take the amount of time you need" Marie said. Medusa walked out of the training room into the marble hallway. Medusa Walked through the halls that looked the same. The place still felt like a maze to Medusa. Medusa didn't know were the exit to the base was even at. Medusa looked around for anything that was nearby. Medusa continued to walk until she say a room that Marie hadn't shown her. Medusa opened the door to see what was inside. Inside was like a library but for records of stuff The Shadow Warriors had. Medusa looked through the stuff that looked like it hadn't been touched since it was made. Medusa read the titles Most of them reading" People Of The Exterminators" Some of them said "Members Of The Shadow Warriors." If Medusa wasn't told about the name changes she would be suspicious of Marie. Medusa came across a book with the title "Monsters of the doom" she could see what the monsters looked like that were able to bring the towns to ruins. She picked up the book and put it in between her right arm. She left the room to bring the book to her room. (+)
