The first thing I see is a dark silhouette. "Ginger?" The thing calls out. "Hello...?" I respond. "You're awake!" The creature reaches for me, then pulls me into a tight hug. It's just Cosmo. "Are you okay?" He asks, pulling back to look at me. "Yeah I'm... Doing fine." I try to get up, but wince at the soreness in my legs. "You don't sound okay." He states. "Do you need a cookie?" "No, I'm fine." I respond. It's been a long while since I first saw Cosmo's face. The only thing I've been seeing since then is just darkness. He starts patching up my bleeding arm and helps me walk. "So, how has everything been?" I ask, my legs still a bit sore from earlier. The look on his face doesn't surprise me at all. He looks tired as always. "Things... have been going okay. How about you?" Although he is my cousin, I don't really care about how things have been going for him. I just care if he's okay. "I can't even remember how things have been going. I've been in a coma for probably months or years, Cosmo." I say, but I can't help but laugh at my own voice. After a few minutes of walking, we reach the elevator. "Where are we going?" I ask "Floor 7." Cosmo responds, clicking a button. We reach floor 7 and Cosmo tells me to follow him. Cosmo opens a door labeled 'staff only' and inside is a bunch of other Toons. I feel uncomfortable with this many other people in a room with me, so I hide behind Cosmo. Bassie goes up to Cosmo holding a baseball bat "No one followed you, right?" She asked, pointing the baseball bat at him. "No one followed me." He responded. I came out from behind Cosmo, making sure l didn't alert Bassie. "Who are you?!" Bassie shouted as she saw me, pointing the baseball bat at me. "Relax, it's just my cousin." Cosmo said, stepping in front of me. "I don't trust her. What's her name?" Bassie said, fiddling with the toothpick in her mouth. "My... My name is Ginger." I flinched as Bassie turned to look at me. "Fine. Get in, Ginger." She scolded me. As much as I didn't trust her, she didn't trust me. How could Cosmo be so blind? Bassie is definitely acting suspicious. Suddenly, someone came running in. It was Tisha. "EVERYBODY HIDE! THEY'RE COMING!" She shouted. Cosmo pulled me over toward a box full of med kits. "Hide in here." Cosmo said digging out a hole for me to hide. "But where will you hide?" I asked, "Does this happen all the time?!" "There's only room for you, Ginger. I have to hide somewhere else." He responded, rushing under a pile of clothes. Everyone else had either hid in boxes or went to the basement. The door burst open. Vee, Sprout, Pebble, and Dandy came walking in. "Vee, let's go check the basement." Sprout said, as he grabbed Vee's arm. Pebble started to sniff everywhere. My heart started beating louder as he sniffed the box I was in. He was right there. Suddenly, Pebble started to sniff near Cosmo. And then he attacked Cosmo. I had to stay silent because I didn't want to get hurt either. I had to listen to his suffering. Sprout and Vee came back up. "Let's go Dandy. There's no one else here." Vee said, heading out the door. "Fine." Dandy said, following Vee. Pebble kept sniffing my area. "Let's go Pebble." Dandy said, tugging at the leash. They finally left. I got up and rushed to Cosmo. "COSMO!" I yelled. But it was no use. He wasn't going to wake up.
