Wild Iris Films is a Chinese-American film studio, it made arthouse & indie movies, similar to A24 & Searchlight Pictures. It started in 1965, where China stood on the brink of the Cultural Revolution, Famous in the southeast & Northern USA for making "The Bamboo Boxer in the Big Apple", it nearly went bankrupt in 1972-1985 due to workplace stress & lack of movies. It was bought by Universal Global at 1986, through Asian Kaleidoscope Pictures' (a Asian-American major film studio producing Asian culture Films) Chinese branch, Paper Lantern Films (the "Blue Sky Studios/Searchlight Pictures" equivalent in China) purchase & ownership. They also distributed films from Universal Pictures to China. They launched "Wild Iris Home Media" (野鸢尾家庭媒体) for VHS & DVD releases, they ended the Home media branch by 2016, due to slight copyright issues & getting "old-fashioned", It won Academy Award for Best Picture in 2021 because of said movie in the first paragraph. They're currently still alive & working on "Neon Dynasty", a sci-fi movie set to release in 2027.
