Meet the Mik! Appearance - The Mik (pronounced like “meek”, with the plural said the same as the singular,) have similar bone structure and overall appearance of a coyote, though somewhat smaller. These mysterious creatures have feathers instead of fur like the coyotes they resemble and have hollow bones similar to that of a bird. Mik have unusual patterns as well, resembling that of a racoon with abnormal coloring. Females having stripes of dark brown over tan fur, and their male counterparts exhibiting dark jade stripes over turquoise fur. Habitat - Mik are often found among heavily wooded areas with high canopies in the midwest region of New Camerica (formerly known as the northwest region of the United States of America). Behavior - The Mik are mischievous creatures, hopping from tree to tree, and causing havoc at campgrounds. They are often found in mated pairs or family groups, preferring to keep their tricks (the term for a group of Mik) on the small side. Mik are known to mate for life, not to find another mate even after a mate’s passing. Unique Features - Miks have the strange ability to conduct a form of hypnosis that leaves the victim’s prefrontal cortex temporarily dysfunctional through a mix of eye contact as well as Scopolamine, Oxytocin, and Endorphins released through the Mik’s pores. Mik are also quite fast, able to sail through trees and crowded underbrush with little hindrance. - Fun Fact! - Mik are among the top three animal species to convey homoromantic behavior, right after giraffes and bottlenose dolphins.
