25 years ago, on this day, four planes were hijacked from various airports across the U.S. Two crashed into the Twin Towers (pictured in the project), one crashed into the Pentagon, and one never reached its target due to the heroic attempts of the passengers on the flight, which was suspected to be the White House. Overall, nearly 3,000 people d1ed. More would've, however, if not for the valiant attempts of the New York Fire Department, who saved well over 40,000 people from the destruction of the Twin Towers. These attacks were caused by the terror1st group Al-Qaeda, led by Osama Bin Ladin. They were from multiple countries in the Middle East, such as Afghanistan and Pakistan. In retaliation to the attacks, the U.S. launched a war on terror1sm. It's still ongoing, but Bin Ladin was k1lled in 2012 in an operation in Iraq (I believe). Today, we remember the 25th anniversary of one of the worst events in U.S. history. May all who d1ed rest in peace, and find heaven.
