A dance animation editor evolved from my original project "Stick to the beat" (see link below). Add and edit key frames (like poses), and the project will morph between these in sync with the music. There are two demo animations: (1) "Do the kriblo", which is all the rage, and (2) the Floss, to demonstrate draw order switching (arms/legs in front/behind torso). The option to load the demos at start will not be shown if you have entered the editor (to make it easier to share remixes). In such case, click the trash can in the editor to load the demos. In Playback mode, you can change the music by clicking the upper left or right corners. To toggle to Edit mode, click the lower left corner. EDITOR, FRAME THUMBNAILS AT THE TOP Click thumbnail to select current frame. Arrows at sides: scroll thumbnail row left/right. Move/Shift frame: move the current frame. Plus/Minus 1: activate onion skinning to show the previous and/or next frame behind the current frame. EDITOR, LEFT BUTTONS Note: music settings and animation frames/beat. Palette: set playback colors (will not affect editor colors). Clipboard: enter clipboard to Copy nodes from the current frame, and to Paste selected nodes from the clipboard. This can be used, for instance, to position the feet in the same position in all frames. Plus: duplicate the current frame. Also, the only way to create a new frame. Minus: delete the current frame. Play: start playback. EDITOR, RIGHT BUTTONS Parent/Child: toggle whether child nodes should follow when parent nodes are moved. Move/Rotate: toggle move/rotate mode. Horizontal flip: flip nodes in current frame in relation to the torso mid-point. L<->R: switch left and right limb nodes (turn-around effect between frames?). Draw order: cycle draw order of head & torso, left limbs and right limbs. Trash: reset to one base frame. EDITOR, STAGE Move all the nodes on the stickman, to change its pose in each frame. There are no constraints. In Move mode, click and drag the center handle to move the whole stickman. In Rotate mode, grab the off-center handle to rotate the whole stickman around the torso center. REMIX IT Remix to share your dance. You can either just add and edit frames and change the song playing, and then click remix and share. Or, you can go further, and add music (see below) or anything else you come up with. Would be fun to see some creative remixes! ADDING A SONG IN A REMIX Import the song to Sounds in the Playback sprite. Add its BPM (beats / minute) to the "Song - BPM" list. Add zero, or whatever is a suitable animation delay for the song, to the "Song - Offset" list. "Number of songs" is automatically set to the number of items in the list "Song - BPM", which must correspond to the number of items in the "Song - Offset" list, and to the actual number and order of songs in Sounds. In a remix, you can also program some additional animation features, or add tools to calculate poses. All code and art by me (). Music: (1) Infamous - Shenseea & Myke Towers (2) Around the world - Daft Punk (3) All that - Bensound. Stick to the beat: Do the kriblo: Floss Cat: Check out a project I made using Stick to the beat: Beta feature: Load "Do the kriblo" and press 3.
