NEW ARTICLE: THE GENERATIONS TIMES The Intriguing Life of a.. Healer? written by @SkyclanYears ★ … on the generations times, we strive to bring you news and insights all around the territories. so, why not start in the unclaimed territories? in a barren place filled with fields and meadows with no name entitled to them- resides a healer, a parent, a traveler, scholar… you get the gist. coralchalcedony indeed is a cat of many titles! [ editor’s note: the generations times would like to remind others that this is not something that is intended to display the wrongdoings or show bias to other cats. the generations times is, purely, news at its best. ] HOW IT ALL STARTED- volume I while many kits started out huddled close to the warmth of their mother, and gradually taking on the world as it was- young coralkit did not have that luxury. coral was left in urchinclan with her other three siblings, and at 1 moon, already began to develop the curiosity that propelled them forward in the harsh cycle of life. maybe it was the sound of flowers waving in the wind. maybe it was the shuffle of unfamiliar paws to and fro. maybe it was the scent of fish luring them out of the nursery for the very first time. we may never know exactly what caused this, but one thing can be certain- coral had a desire to know and understand. while other kits were content with playing with a moss-ball, tumbling and roughhousing in the sand, arguing and play-fighting- coral was out and about planting gardens and experimenting with herbs! every question needed an answer, and coral was determined to get the answers. her goal stretched, and soon she found herself questioning everything. yearning for the truth. finding herself set out from all of the others that so blindly followed the rules of fitting in, becoming a piece in a puzzle they didn’t consent to being in. as coral grew older, their desire to understand the world only became stronger. they sought knowledge wherever it could be found, asking questions that others considered unnecessary… there was always something else to learn, something else to try, something else to attempt to improve. truth to be told, it pained coral to not know. to become without a purpose. so she paved a purpose for herself. THE SEARCH BEGINS- volume II THE FULL STORY HERE! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1326588582/ coralpaw finds herself questioning whether this is truly the life she wishes to lead. she fears becoming little more than a weapon for her clan, forced to abandon the virtues she holds closest: compassion, understanding, curiosity, and knowledge. coralpaw had always believed that the world could not possibly exist without purpose. the forests, the stars, the plants, and felinekind itself… surely, all of it had been created for a reason. nothing was created by accident. but now, as she is finally at the age of 6 moons and nearly an apprentice, simply believing is no longer enough. they needed to be quenched. coral begins to devote herself to the distant light of Truth. the Truth is not a deity, but a sacred force that that guides the nature of felinekind, understanding, honesty, existence, and self-discovery. he believes that Truth is used by starclan as an instrument, and that only Truth grants true Freedom, nothing is complete without Truth, and only Truth alone holds the answers to the universe. in pursuit of it, coralpaw eventually leaves behind everything she knows, venturing deep into the unclaimed territories- home of the loners- in silent hopes that perhaps distancing herself from her old life will bring her closer to the very answers that she seeks. the star’s guardians introduce her to starclan and the heavenly beings she had never known existed. what once was a quiet hope that there was more to the world than the eye revealed had blossomed into a devotion to purpose he could finally hold dear to his heart. young and bold, coral joins the group, believing that through them (and starclan) she may finally reach the Truth he had spent so long searching for. despite what seems to be, coralpaw’s journey is not simply one of belief. she remains a cat deeply fascinated by nature, healing, and the study of the world around her. among the members of her group, her friends, and new cats she meets along the way, she finds encouragement for the very curiosity she once feared she would have to abandon. their connection and gratitude towards the Truth for guiding her the way- the path, to a fulfilling life- only strengthens her sense that perhaps this is where she was meant to be. THE LATER DAYS- volume III the moons continued to pass as coral grew from a juvenile to adult. coralchalcedony traveled. they healed. they were able to explore places that they had never thought existed before. their mind was able to soar, and their understanding was able to fully grasp life at its fullest. they had once dreamed of finally understanding the world, gradually changing from the cat who had first ventured into the unclaimed territories in search of a place to belong long ago… into a wise, learned, and compassionate healer and traveler. of course, their devotion to the Truth never fully disappeared, but.. gradually dimmed. the magnificent answers that they searched for, scattered across the horizon.. never seemed to reveal themselves. and every flooding thought, every interaction only seemed to form another question, the answer beyond feline comprehension. they then began to wonder: would the Truth ever be able to be reached? and how would they reach it? rather than allowing this uncertainty to consume them, the loner began turning toward the things that were immediately within their reach. perhaps in a way of insecurity with their current state, a desperate attempt to wrap their paws around something they /could/ understand. and it was the everyday things that inspired them. small and temporary things… things that were real. the splendor of the sunlight hitting the ground. the birdsong of overlooking blue-jays seated comfortably in branches above. the scent of herbs awakening them every day. because perhaps, life was part of the search. and you could not understand it without living it. they became extremely comfortable with their life. they offered aid, healed others, meditated daily, spent their time embracing the beauty of nature, talking to others, listening and sharing stories.. companionship, if you will. it was like this for many moons. and somewhere along the way, they were able to create a family. sooner or later, coralchalcedony’s world expanded beyond philosophies and questions. there were cats to love. cats to understand. generations growing before their very eyes. and.. cats, to. well. care for. take strolls with. sing with. eat blackberries with. explore the ocean with. organize herbs with. then, tragedy struck. they had lost many faces before. but this one was by far the one that has managed to slip past the mask of a cat who had everything under control. deepmaelstrom, their beloved adopted father, passed. deep was not just another cat. he had been there for her. he had supported her in her decision to leave her clan. he had introduced her to the very herbs that may have just shaped her history. his love towards her had passed down from generation to the next. the same love that she gave her kits. and it was painful to think about. how would one make peace with something that cannot be changed?
