In this roleplay, the dinosaur variants have been updated to introduce sub-variants for much more flexible and dynamic storytelling, beginning with the mighty Giganotosaurus. This apex predator is split into six primary variants—Lush, Red-Crest, Drought, Pale, Biolum, and Pygmy—with three out of the six being considered common. The Lush variant is the most widespread, making up 70% of the entire Giganotosaurus population, and features four unique sub-variants: the Darkscale Lush, which is the most abundant overall and mirrors the creature seen in Jurassic World Dominion; the Lightscale Lush, a slightly smaller and paler counterpart matching the prehistoric prologue depiction; the Zombiewood Lush, a completely dark green jungle dweller; and the Greenscale Lush, which retains the standard patterning but boasts a primary green body coloration. Next are the Red-Crest variants, massive beasts that dwarf the Lush population, possess the strongest bite force of all, and are known for pack-hunting behaviors. Their sub-variants include the highly common and heavily scarred Shadowgnash Red-Crest, named for their dark hides and aggressive infighting; the Crimson Red-Crest, a fellow pack hunter and the absolute largest of its lineage; and the Brownscale Red-Crest, which is the smallest of the group, presenting with a leaner build and reduced spikes. Adapting to harsher climates, the Drought variants consist of the monogamous and highly common Sandscale Drought, the mysterious Dune Drought—which researchers previously misclassified as a relative of the Crimson Red-Crest—and the average-sized, dark-toned Wyrm Drought. Standing out due to its unique sexual dimorphism, the rare Pale variant contains only a single sub-variant known as the Basal Pale, which holds the title of the largest overall Giganotosaurus type, characterized by pale-scaled males and light-to-mid blue females. Breaking the mold of the species' massive size hierarchy is the Pygmy variant, a drastically downsized lineage featuring three distinct sub-variants: the Fern-Skulk Pygmy, a highly elusive hunter with dappled forest camouflage that allows it to easily hide in low brush; the Reef-Runner Pygmy, an island-dwelling population with pale sandy scales optimized for chasing small prey across coastal shorelines; and the Crag-Climber Pygmy, a compact and stocky hunter built with dense bones and rugged scales to navigate steep, mountainous terrain. Finally, wrapping up the list is the elusive Biolum variant, which is divided into the Purple-scale and Blue-scale sub-variants; both share nearly identical statures and remain a massive, enigmatic focus of ongoing study within the roleplay lore.
REX SUB VARIANTS COMING SOON! THANKS FOR GRAMMARLY FOR FIXING MY HORRIBLE GRAMMAR LOL.
