Welcome to another of Scout's weird events™! This is a completely new idea that I made up :D Table of contents: i. What is Scout up to this time? ii. Why are they doing this? iii. How can I participate? iv. Prompt i. What is happening? This is a new idea that I had the other day! I will write a short story focusing more on color schemes and complex themes, and /you/ will draw it. The theme of the prompt will be random for maximum confusion :D ii. Why? 3 reasons: 1. I /love/ writing. I'm working on 7 books (and counting) at the moment, some of which will eventually make their way to Scratch. I want to see how you all interpret my writing! 2. I reached 200 followers a few months ago but lost motivation to make and event :( sorry! 3. I've been on Scratch for 3 years as of this week! I felt like I should celebrate somehow iii. How do I participate? Just remix this project and draw the prompt! You can do a comic, scene, animation, anything that involves art! Except. writing bro iv. Prompt !! I wake from my sleep silently, my dream fading as I adjust to reality. I stand and look outside. It's very, very late... or possibly early? I walk through my house, carefully stepping outside. The sky is a dark, navy blue dotted with silver stars, like someone threw a handful of glitter onto a blanket. A soft breeze blows my warm pajamas a little to the side, my hair following suit. As I walk off my porch and into my backyard, the grass tickles my legs and dew sprays my feet. Crickets chirp in the distance and a few cicadas buzz, but other than that, the night is quiet. I hear the river just ahead of me, just through my backyard, and follow the sound. I slide down to the riverbank and stand there, clear water flowing past me. The river sings a silent song of lakes, mountains, oceans, forests, all the places it's been. It is a beautiful song that everyone can hear, but few stop to listen. The river sings to me of gentle winds, sunny forests, raging storms, and wide, open seas. I listen to its sad, sweet song until I see a small glimmer of light on the water's surface. I raise my eyes to the sky and see the stars blinking out, one by one. A warm light daintily reaches its fingers over the horizon, causing the world to sparkle. Slowly, as if it is rising from sleep, the sun crawls over the mountains in the distance. I've never been to the mountains, with their rocky slopes and snowy peaks, but I will one day. As the sun continues to climb over the land, I wonder how many rivers and lakes are feeling its warmth, and how many oceans can even see it from their distant lands. The sun finally reaches me, warming my skin. Another breeze tousles my hair and I smile. The land accepts me.
yayayayaya I love the prompt lowkey based off of "This Land is Your Land"
