I wanted to make a project that uses real time to change the way the visuals of a project look and I think I've done it! Basically, this project uses your computers time and a little math to determine how and where the sun and moon sit in the sky, how dark things appear on the screen, if fire flies or birds show up, and what the music/sound effects sounds like. So if you are looking at the project at 7am it will look and sound different than if you are looking at the project at 10pm! This project works on a 6am-6pm sunrise/sunset schedule. Click on the sun/moon to see what percentage of daylight/moonlight is left and what that means in hours and minutes. I know this project is a bit different than my usual projects in that it doesn't look like much is happening when you press play BUT I think the real fun with this project is looking inside and seeing how things work. I used some time based math to figure out all the moving pieces and left a few comments in the project to hopefully help explain what I was thinking. Found it really fun to think about the course of day through a mathematical lens. And I think you could do a lot more with this kind of project, adding things that happen at specific times or parts of the day. Perhaps something to consider as a remix! Because this was a new way of thinking about a project for me, I'm sure I made some errors but that's okay. All part of the learning process :D Feel free to adjust things in a remix or add your own ideas to the project! I would love for more things to happen at certain times of day or night. What do you think should be added? This was made for the Invisible Math studio. Check it out and join the fun here: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/52032490/
