general family stuff because i have a lot of confusing nicknames parents - usually the collective name of the three people that have custody of me and my sister. occasionally including my stepmother moms - my mother & stepmother (hate each other a LOT) dads - my father & stepfather (good buddies) grandma & papa - maternal grandparents mena & deda - paternal grandparents mimi & old guy - steppaternal grandparents the boys - former stepbrothers that i still hang out with frequently my cousin - okay you’re gonna have to use context clues for this one because that refers to eight different people but usually it’s Older Girl Cousin, Annoying Younger Boy Cousin, or Gay Cousin my uncle - again context clues are required because there are two different kinds of uncles. 1, people who i am legally related to. and 2, my dad’s close friends. i have more illegitimate uncles than real ones my house / the house - usually my dad’s house. alternatively “my dad’s house.” my sister & i live here half the time (latter half of the week + every other weekend), dad lives there full time with our two cats (piper & toro) my mom’s house - my mom’s house. Shockingly. my sister & i live here in the first half of the week & every other weekend. mom & stepdad & two dogs (dude & dawn) live here too days of the week and what it’s like monday - at my mom’s house, every other week i’m coming back from my dad’s tuesday - always at my mom’s wednesday - going from my mother’s to my father’s, usually a significant day in the week for me thursday - always at my dad’s friday - at my dad’s house, every other week i go back to my mom’s for the weekend weekend days depend on who “has” me (has custody of me) legally this is called a 2-2-5 custody schedule if you want a better explanation of what actually goes on
friend nicknames + fun stuff swagalicious - term i use to be friendly. gender neutral. alternatively “dawgalicious” (slightly more friendly) or “(name)(-a)licious” (best friends only) gene mutual - my sister “yeah. but like, so anyways” - the only way you can tell i’m genuinely californian. it’s all my filler words horrendously mashed together into one transition dawg / dude - i call everyone these. big dawg is my stepdad
