"..so i hold you to my knife, and i steal your letter.." ˖ ࣪⊹ how do i guide? how do i show them the way? tell me stars, how do i use this life? ˖ ࣪⊹ i never meant to hurt you. lark. my son. i'm sorry. i was only trying to GUIDE how can i guide? how can i make sure you're ready for warriorhood? is it my fault if you're not? wren. my darling daughter. you are my light did you shine out the moon? i wish i was there. i wish i could go back down to you, lark, and hold you while you watch my broken body. i have never seen my broken body before. i have never seen myself like that. as much death as i have seen, i have never seen it in myself. it terrifies me. as much as i imagine death this was not what i imagined to see. deep down, i know it's only one life one out of nine if i can't guide my son how do i guide myself? the breeze in starclan is warm. it is a breeze that lets you know you are real. but it is a cold, horrifying breeze. i feel the breeze moving through my skin. crawling through my fur and yet- i feel nothing. i feel none knowing i am down there my son is down there. for a moment i get a glimpse of this side this afterlife i won't see for a while. and i imagine it to be good. i imagine my parents. i imagine my love. i imagine my children i've lost and the cats that have left i imagine it all, and yet- i feel no urge to stay. the breeze is like a fever. i am hot and i am cold. but inside, i am empty. i am empty knowing my son is down there. my son. my larkpaw. who for so long hasn't been my son because all i've known is that wren is my daughter and lark is my child but he is my son. now he is my son. i will hold him. and i will guide him. like a father should with his son. for i am no leader if i am no father. despite how i am losing this life i know i have so many more to lose and why waste them when i can be with my children on the other side. i will see my loved ones again. before then, i will guide. to guide. ˖ ࣪⊹
