(This post is strictly Out-of-Character for mechanics and Mod transparency. It cannot be used against Yugoslavia In-Character.) Context: Following the initial wave, another 55,000 Yugoslav citizens want to volunteer for the Czech cause. Because Yugoslavia must maintain its official neutrality, the state cannot legally authorize, fund, or arm this massive force. Operation: Private Yugoslav entrepreneurs are expanding their operations, using their wealth to fund and subsidize low-cost private travel agencies and "cultural tour packages" to Prague. To ensure mechanical realism and manage the logistical footprint, these 55,000 volunteers will not leave all at once. They will leave in steady, continuous waves over a series of months. They will fly out entirely unarmed as private civilian "tourists." To bypass border restrictions on this scale, the entrepreneurs have bribed or ideologically won over local Yugoslav airport security and customs officials. These corrupt/sympathetic guards will intentionally look the other way, stamping passports and clearing the large waves of "tourists" without flagging them to higher government ministries. Just like the first wave, they land in Prague as unarmed civilians. The Czech government handles 100% of their military processing, outfitting, and training once they enlist abroad. The Yugoslav Government officially remains completely in the dark. Because the operation relies on low-level airport corruption and private corporate travel fronts, no state budget is used, no military orders are issued, and the state genuinely has no IC knowledge of the pipeline. The amount of civilians leaving for tourism raises suspicion however as this slightly affects the economy and workforce, with surveillance on airports slightly increased. Security is slightly increased, with increased questioning beginning on those part of the “tourist” groups. No drastic measures are taken however. Volunteer Force: These volunteers have elite morale, as unlike conscripts who are forced to fight, these 75,000 Yugoslavs volunteered and chose to sneak past their own borders, bribe guards, and take flights just to shoot at the invaders. They may not be the most experienced but have the Slavic spirit in them. They’ll likely use modern partisan shock tactics or similar assymetric tactics when fighting due to not much formal military training aside from any veterans who volunteered. Their tactics would involve classic partisan ambushes: letting the invading tanks and armored vehicles pass down a narrow forest road, blowing up the lead and rear vehicles to trap the column, and then opening fire from the trees. They also have a command structure in a way, where these volunteers make a structure for their forces to not use their effort in vain. Urban Fighting: They would blow holes through the interior walls of connected apartment buildings to move safely between structures without stepping onto the streets, turning every basement, staircase, and sewer pipe into a hiddenposition. Because of their morale, if an invading squad enters a building, the volunteers won't retreat. They will engage in terrifying, close-quarters room-clearing battles using submachine guns, shotguns, and hand grenades, fighting for every single floor, forcing the invaders to waste days trying to clear a single block. In the case of fighting in a leveled city of rubble, this extends to new hiding spaces in the rubble and such. During the night, they’d likely raid supply depots, cut communication wires, and destroy fuel trucks deep behind enemy lines. The volunteers are likely not to serve on the open fields as they would vouch to the Czech military in order to utilize their strengths, with majority of the volunteers having fought in the Serbian civil war as partisans, these tactics play to their strengths. Entrepreneurs: Some entrepreneurs join together to form genuine tourism companies, that begin earning profit from this and actual tourism later on to cement their legal status. Motivation: These volunteers feel the bond of Pan-Slavicism compelling them to join their Czech brothers in arms. They also fear Hungarian Revanchism if Hungary benefits in anyway from the conflict, and fearing German expansion. They also feel furious at the Romanians for breaking the spirit of the Little Entente, by aiding the very nation it was meant to prevent from expanding again. this is also likely the last of the volunteers.
the volunteers are likely to fight like this due to their morale (volunteering out of pure passion) and lack of formal training. literally the WWII yugoslav partisans fought kind of similarly to this. besides they aren’t piloting tanks or fighter jets or smt, and these majority of these volunteers fought in the serbian civil war as partisans, where the civil war taught these volunteers on creating improvised firearms, improvised armored vehicles, and on urban, partisan, and guerrilla warfare. this does not need a response. this is also likely the last of the czech foreign legion volunteers the partisans song
