[Eusan Federation Outskirts, 8/4/80] The E.S.S Cantenia stopped, the old freighter's engine needing maintenance before continuing onwards. However, something sinister lurks in the void. Ever since the Cantenia left port, it had been followed. The R.A.S "Unfortunate Incident" had been following them, prowling, waiting for the right moment, the right moment to strike. As the captain of the Cantenia unwraps his freeze-dried lunch, a torpedo is launched. Alarms blare and emergency lighting turns on as the ship's sensors pick up the small torpedo. Crewmen drop their tools, navigators rush to their stations, but all in vain. The torpedo's shaped charge renders the ship no more than a debris field. The Ruk destroyer promptly flees the scene, having conducted the first attack on the Eusan Federation in decades.
