⚝Chapter one: Because a long time ago this didn't matter. Ivy could do as she pleased without judgement. She didn't feel bad for turning people down. There was no reason for people to point her out or avoid her entirely. She was free. But now she was 21 whereas people saw her differently. She always did everything alone. Nothing was full of joy as it was when she was just 5 or 7. Everything had seemed to be so...as she put it, empty. "...hm" someone grunted next to her. Ivy perked up in shock, in this class, or any, nobody ever sat next to her. But as she looked up, she saw Trevor. Trevor of all people. Even just his name gives off what type of kid he is. Not saying Ivy judged by names but... Trevor. Her childhood friend she hadn't talked to since. HE grunted again "I don't want to sit next to this freak," he mumbled "why out of all places must the teacher put me here?" Ivy froze, '...so that's why' she thought to herself. 'Of course' she thought, slightly laughing at her own foolishness. 'It's Trevor, of course he got in trouble'. And for the rest of the class, she kept her face in her book while he mumbled things that even the deafest of people could hear. After school Ivy headed back to her dorm and closed the door, only slightly, because besides all the sad artifacts of being grown up, she did have one friend. She heard scratching on her dorm room door and opened it up to see Daisy. A stray cat. "Hey there Daisy," Ivy said bending to pick her up in her arms, rocking her back and forth. "Tough day?" Daisy replied. Ivy froze, and for three seconds, it felt like the world had stopped spinning. It felt like all her problems vanished. It felt...peaceful maybe. She abruptly dropped Daisy and launched herself backwards "W-what? C-can you....am I dreaming?" "No, I've been trying to reach you, you know? Both me AND Jelly." Daisy aggressively stated, not quite happy about the fact she had been dropped. Jelly, that name rang a bell. "...who's Jelly?" "You dead jellyfish you flushed down the toilet," Daisy has stated as if this was an everyday topic. "HER? Isn't she DEAD?" "Well not exactly, she wasn't dead in the first place, just sick. So then I found her in a drainage place and took her with me. Apparently she can float in the air now," Daisy turned her head. "WHAT?!? FLOAT?!? And you're telling me everything NOW?" "Well I mean I couldn't tell you anything before, better late than never. Oh, and not to mention, i'm dead too." That was the last straw for Ivy, she fell backwards and collapsed on her bed. The next morning Ivy woke up, Daisy was on top of her peacefully sleeping. Ivy remembered last night and felt light throwing up, but instead poked Daisy "Hey...wake up"
