Chapter 14: Returning king Defend and follow command, defending the homeland! Gausstavus returns, and the news of him returning really makes everyone in the kingdom very happy. Thier great king is alive and is returning to thier land, Idun is slightly relieved that she doesn't have to defend against the Tsarist alone. "Great to finally see you again, your majesty." Said a Grand Grenadier, one who didn't join him in the retreat but routed back. Back in the East the Tsar's army is coming and they're not slowing down, with Glacier troops and Sky Vampiric Lancers, it is an unstoppable army. They have already gained some lost territories, and they are pushing further into the Karoliners. The Tsarist has a secret weapon, thier cannons are not mere laser guns, they are Graviton Yedinorog cannons. Graviton weapons are outdated, short to medium ranged cannons that works by increasing the gravitational field around the target, turning thier own mass against them. It was abandoned after Scatterblast shots are proven to be more devastating, especially against multiple enemies in close combat, and also obliterates the organization of enemy formations. This new hybrid gun allows long range laser fire, devastating Graviton fire for medium range, and battalion shattering Scatterblast shots. Something the Karoliner army has no idea is coming straight at them. Back in the Fortresses of Horatio, their ships are getting upgraded with concussion rocket racks, given to them by the Eastern Dynasty. Horatio is also allowed to create more of these weapons for their army and fleet and without hesitation, Lord Nelson finds a new potential for these lethal long range fireworks: mass them up into batteries and turn them into lightweight artillery. Even if these rockets won't really destroy as many troops as regular light artillery the psychological effects of these weapons, the loud sounds and unpredictable flight trajectory shatters the morale of the enemy. These lightweight rockets are very mobile and easily movable, making them perfect for quick assaults. They are terrible at destroying well organized units since damage and accuracy is minimal, but their significantly higher rate of fire makes them still valuable, at least when they are fully implemented into Horatio's army. Another use for these rockets are used for Horatio's naval armada, the original use of these loud rockets. Despite the Yophates trying thier best to hide the news, the Sirrasan uprising still managed to be heard across the land. Spreading seeds of nationalisms and resistance across the cores of Sirrasan and a sense of justice for some of the Yophates. Sirrasan people are forced to leave their homes, used as test subjects and those who resisted will be shot and scrapped, and even in thier eternal conflict. Both Sirrasan and Yophates never did cruelty at this scale, for some it is too much and another organization starts to form under the dark, some just accepted it as fate. Something that would never happen if the Garde Mortis didn't intervene. Gausstavus however, did not want to become king again and only after being addressed how serious the Tsarist threat is did he finally agree to lead the Karoliner. This caused the Karoliner army to have a significant morale boost, knowing that their glorious king is back again, even if different. They know the Tsarist are coming, but if they were you fight them. The Tsar shall fight in thier own terms. Nelson sends his army and navy once again towards the Glacier tribes. He knows that they have seen nothing similar to the rockets he is going to use against them and with these lightweight rocket artillery needing way less space, a lot of them could be carried, way more than if they were to only use cannons. With a rate of fire everyone else in their world call impossible, he is confident they will easily win. He then sends his invasion force during night time, not to arrive in the cover of night since it will take them days, even weeks to reach the Glacier tribes. His settlements on their shores still standing strong since not long after the invasion, Horatio and the Glacier tribes decided that they would stop fighting if Horatio gave them five field guns. Something the Glacier tribe would use against them if they came back, Horatio doesn't care, they would panic upon seeing rocket artillery being used against them. At least that is what Admiral Nelson thought confident with his new rockets and upgraded fleet, some of his marines equipped with rocket launcher crossbows, usually non-commissioned officers and specialized Rocketeer companies, fit into some foot battalions. While the Eastern Dynasty uses similar ones to arm thier chariots, acting as some sort of tank as the chariots are given a roof and slits to make sure the driver and soldiers inside could see what is happening outside. "These barbaric ice people do NOT deserve a land." -Lord Nelson, towards his armada as they set sail to the Glacier tribe's land.
